Outstanding performance.

JDS, Grimes and Sheaf in particular, Rudoni well next level currently. Simms also worked back line hard, good loan centre forward play.

on to Monday, we will win again.

Ha…me thinks this is a lie.

Just had a look on Coventry fans forum. I’m not sure they are the brightest fans. Here’s one comment about today’s match:

“I don't think I mind a draw at all today, as long as we can score quite a few goals to improve our goal difference.”

Do you think? Thought he put himself about well. Won headers or made life difficult for the defender.

He's playing more like I want him too at the very least. hopefully grab a goal soon and catch fire at an important part of the season

I thought he was poor today, not faulting his effort, but he just didn't impact the game enough.
Bassette wasn't any better though.

This. People berating Bassette (who wasn’t good either), are the same saying “Simms was good”. He wasn’t.

He did a job for the team which contributed towards a very good win.

He did a lot of dirty work today, and you saw how it changed when he went off.

Do we need better? Yes, really, but at the moment, he's by far the best bet in that position and does a job we need someone to do.

Great game overall, aside from the first nervy few minutes we were in complete control, especially once they were down to 10.

Was surprised how poor West Brom looked. Their left winger looked decent, but overall they were so wasteful in the final third

Big shame also that Bristol got to face 10 men against Sunderland and West Brom.

Not really no. Simms did offer more than Bassette, but then again, that should be expected shouldn’t it? Given the fact he’s older and has had more minutes of late.

Their best bet would have been to get forwards 1 v 1 on Latibeaudiere, managed it just once thankfully.

They seemed to be so scared of us that they were only interested in hitting us on the break. But by the first time they could hit us on the break the game was over.

Seem to be on an everything is going their way kind of run. Tough game at Luton next though and they'll get pumped by Leeds.

Just weird to bring Simms in who had a decent performance by his standards and did a good job for the team to Bassette who ran about a lot and looked like he’d never seen a football before. He needs a loan to a lower level to see if he can turn into a pro footballer. I was surprised BTA didn’t get a run out tbh.

Odds are you will hear Luton is an easy game for them but when we play them it suddenly becomes a difficult game.

I agree he did a job and helped get the win.

I also do not think he’s currently good enough and at the moment I’m struggling to see if he ever will be.

Don’t get me wrong, there are facets of his game which have improved under Lampard. Maybe there is other stuff which will eventually come to him more naturally?

Yeah, a few times in the first half they got it down and dribbled around our defence but the final ball through was terrible.

Latibaudiere and Collins were both relatively untested

Considering Sunderland played basically all the game a man down, Bristol made heavy work of it. Also just seen the Boro highlights, one goal offside and the other a bullshit penalty.

Would be nice for the officials to be shite in our favour next week.

Think it's a hard game for us and them. I think Plymouth is tough too, they are fighting hard at home these days. Much rather have Sheffield Wednesday or someone like that.

A joke is supposed to be funny. Their player should get banned for the rest of the season for that dive. There was no contact at all.

What’s the connection? Would you have started Bassette over Simms today?

Generally I agree with this. For the output, he's not been a great buy. He has games where he's unplayable, but they are too few and far between.

When he's not having one of those game, we need him to be aggressive with his back to the goal and occupy defences by battling, and thus allowing us to get other players into the game and win the second balls. I think he did that today.

No because I think Simms is better for the team? I just don’t understand why a player who has far less experience and is much younger gets pelters when Simms is hardly living up to expectations himself. They’re also both completely different styles of player.
