I think we'll make a fair few changes. McFadz to come in as the experienced head and give Kelly the night off. I'd also be tempted to try something a bit different with O'Hare. Hiwula and Jobello have been very quiet in recent games so I wonder if O'Hare might be able able to play one of those role? I'm not sure whether to play Jobello to try and get his confidence up though.

Big game on Saturday. The 1st team should be nowhere near it!

Do you still have to start with five players who were in the previous match day squad?

It would be almost impossible for us not to do that wouldn’t it ?.

Wilson, Biamou, kastaneer, McFaz and Watson will all likely start and they were all subs yesterday

No rules have changed :

7.4 Qualifying Player means any Player who:

7.4.1 had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);

7.4.2 subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;

7.4.3 is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;

7.4.4 has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or

7.4.5 is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

7.5 First Team Fixture means the League Competition, Premier League, EFL Cup or FA Challenge Cup (but shall, in the context of Rules 7.4.3 and 7.4.4 only, also include this Competition).

7.6 Any EFL Club failing to meet the requirement to play Full Available Strength will be required to pay a fine of up to £5,000.

Expect it will be:
Wilson
Watson- Williams-Mcfadzean-Mccallum
-------eccles
Westbrooke-burroughs
Wakefield-Baka-/biamou-walters

I expect Westbrooke to play simple because O'Hare will likely start on saturday

Got to rest as many first teamers as possible within the rules. Huge game Saturday but also because they need a rest. 8 games in August is mental

Let's take the fine and play the team that suits the bigger game Saturday.

Kastaneer and Max have to play to help get match fitness. If Westbrooke is to be replaced by O'Hara, I agree - let him play in this.

I was being flippant definatily as weak a team as possible at this stage and see where we go. For me this trophy should only get out first team if Wembley is in sight so the semi finals. My only caveat to that is if we play Sunderland.

There's no way Kelly is going to play and based on us keeping the same formation Baka and Biamou both won't start.

Wilson
Watson Mcfaz Williams Mcallum
Wakefield Ngandu Eccles Kastaneer
Bapaga Max

This would be the team I would opt for but it would require a 442 which I am not sure MR will go for as it does not fit his philosophy atm.

I'd quite like to see Dabo start in this one, bring his confidence back up a bit after the Oxford game as one of our strongest starters. I'd then play a mix of our subs/youth with a couple of first teamers, maybe start O'Hare to add a bit of a lively cat amongst the pigeons. Would be nice to boost confidence of a few with a goal or two. Would be good also to see Biamou start, dependant on fitness/injury maybe even Allen/Jones on the bench to appear for the last ten. Personally I'd have

-------------------Wilson--------------------
-Dabo--Drysdale--McFadzean--McCallum-
----Eccles-----O'Hare-----Burroughs----
Jobello----------Biamou----------Kastaneer

Subs:
Billson
Hyam
Allen/Jodi
Wakefield
Westbrooke
Bremang
Bapaga

Hoping that the following start: Kastaneer, Max, either Ngandu or Burroughs (or both but doubt it), Williams, Eccles, Bapaga and Wakefield.

You really think that 10 and a half months after tearing his ACL for the second time, Jodi Jones will be on the bench?

I don't think we will ever see Jones in any meaningful way. He will be too physically fragile for the rest of his career. I am also unconvinced he is good enough for the top half of L 1.

I'd definitely give McCallum a rest for this game (mentally more than anything so he's fresh for the weekend) and give Watson an opportunity to settle in and let MR have a look at him. Which I'd have LB and which RB not sure though

I agree with the overall assessment sadly but I think it'll be more a mental than physical thing. You could see how tentative he was last time so after a second you could see him not wanting to take on his man in case he gets clattered or put a foot in for fear of injury.

I hope I'm wrong but I think this season most we'll probably see of him is U23 to improve his physical and mental fitness.

At least if/when JJ comes back, he can have a flat pitch to try and twist and turn on. Let's hope it's not a twist followed by a shout!

Anyone planning on going? Do you know what block people will sit in for these games? The attendance will likely be ~1k so want to make sure I'm sitting with some people.

The Watford game possibly cost us 2 points Saturday, Blackpool will be a far sterner test than Oxford.

I want us to progress and do well because we have quite a few players to give games to who you wouldn’t want playing in the league just yet but could break through somewhat soon.
I also want to be able to watch as many games as possible on iFollow to make up for the 1.5 games that were stolen from me.
But most of all, I want us to do well regardless of what competition we’re in.

Hate comments like this - what do you know about it? He has got every chance of recovering from this injury, physically and mentally
