Very left leaning fanbase, their ground is based on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg (Which is basically Germany's answer to Amsterdam) and as a result the club have a bit of a punk/hipster vibe to them - They are big on the LGBT/Refugee rights stuff, as a result they have developed a bit of a cult following here

They were very pally with Celtic, until the two sets of 'ultras' had a disagreement over the Israel/Palestine conflict

Should get on well with a few on here then

The Reeperbahn is not what it was was, the most Amsterdam the street itself gets is a hooters and if you bed down to the docks there's a fucking hard rock cafe.

SV Hamburg have a bit of a right wing following so on the occasions they play St Pauli it can get pretty tasty.

Surely can't be expecting less than midweek?

We all know what's going to happen now. Some pissed up idiot will not realise the road isn't closed and get themselves run over.

It just means 'not being a prick', as far as I can tell.

People who use it as a pejorative are exclusively pricks, anyway.

The Copa90 Derby Days series is really good, although some rivalries are a lot more interesting that others.
Like the Derby della Capitale in Rome compared to the North London derby...

Still waiting for the mighty M69 thunderdome to be aired

I thought the ones about Asturias and Galicia stood out. Regions of Spain most don't know much about. Portsmouth and Southampton might be the best, though. It's an hour long and dives really deep.

St Pauli aren't as recognisable for some people.

Two good fixtures from a footballing perspective and St Pauli have a cult following across Europe but not as appealing to plenty of people.

I'm using CBS on site parking tomorrow, car park A, never used it before, is there anything I should know about arrival/departure time before and after the game? Such as what's the latest I can arrive etc?

as late as you like, the only problem you might hit if you're really late is that A is full and they put you in one of the other car parks.

no road closures tomorrow but getting out is a free for all, they put nothing in place to ensure a steady flow.

Ok cheers, normally I walk from the new horseshoe on foleshill road, but as I'm taking my 6 yr old and I wanted to spare her any of the walking. Will hopefully be a tad quieter.

I've spent the last few weeks thinking St. Pauli are an Italian side! D'oh.

Since it seems everyone here is more clued up than me on this (a low bar, in fairness), what's the opinion of their level?

(I'd just like to know so I can join in meaningfully on the "We're Doomed / We're Going Up" pile on later... )

They're in the Bundesliga, finished 14th last season. Lower echelons of the Bundesliga/top half of 2. Bundesliga is probably comparable to upper/mid table Championship so similar level ish.

Probably the best we can do in terms of similar level without playing a direct rival!

Got promoted and managed to survive last season. They should be a good side but not as good as Real Betis. Their record signing is about 5 million. Usually buy players in the 1-3 million bracket.

Well then that would-be their own fault.
What annoyed me was people who dragged children across.
But that's last season's rant

Their captain is Jackson Irvine, who, following Hector Bellerin, will make it two throughly decent men who make poor sartorial choices that we've faced this week.
