He looked decent against spurs,we’re struggling for goals and he’s taking the piss in the U21s, why’s he not even had mins off the bench in the last 3 games …..and breatheHe is very raw. A talent but not first team starter level. Take a deep breath and give him time.

This is right, youth football exists for the development of 1-2 in a group, we were on the end of a lot of batterings (think we finished clear bottom of the league) when playing a 16yo Maddison in the U21s.The problem with development football is the lack of continuity. Results aren't that important. They could be not fielding their best team and giving youngsters a chance? They could be trying a new system? Fans are results based, Academy coaches are development based.
People keep on saying this and honestly I really don’t see him as “raw”.
Granted he hasn’t scored yet but he looks an intelligent and aggressive forward and seems older than 19.
Quite a strange take.I think he needs grounding to improve. Some temperament issues. Nobody should just walk in the side. He is a mixed bag at the minute and needs to get his head down.
Who says he is not going to play at all? We have lots of talent and ability in the squad. It's very competitive. All I have seen is a young raw talent. He is not worth 20 minutes at all. I would not be shy of giving him 20 minutes in certain circumstances. But I would not guarantee him 20 minutes or even a place on the bench.
That situation could change rapidly of course? But we are where we are. I think some fans are clutching at straws and being panicked by poor results i.e When is Rodriguez fit,? We have never seen him play and has always been well down the pecking order! I am not saying he is a bad buy or won't come good.... Just him and Bassett deserve time. They were clearly signed to strengthen squad depth and as future investments. Certainty not to be judged by mid October.

I am not arguing your last sentence at all. But he still looks raw at times. Hasn't always chosen the best decisions. Can't fault his enthusiasm
Play him week in week out and most Championship defenders would have him in their pocket. Looks like you could press a few buttons and get him off script like Kitching.
The raw talent and enthusiasm needs channeling just like Viks did in his first half season. Fans don't see these players day in day out like the manager and coaches. They haven't the experience of developing players like the manager and coaches. But somehow they think if they had played the result would have been different? Based on little evidence.

He didn't just 'walk into the side'. He was chosen by Robins as a first team striker for a few games, got some plaudits, now isn't getting any minutes even as a sub and is now put in the U21's.
Just all looks a bit odd by Robins.
If 'grounding" is being turned into a passionless, predictable player, who doesn't raise their voice or opinions, then no thanks.How good were Spurs? He has had a chance was raw, petulant with his own players and missed a sitter.

I'm not sure many pros would see being picked for a club's junior team as anything but a bit of a snub by the manager.Not sure why everyone wants to read something into him getting a game tonight. Whatever the history - for a guy we haven't seen score before, 60 minutes on a Tuesday and 4 goals sets him up nicely for the weekend.

You argue Robin's picked him then question why Robins has held him back? Do you trust Robins or not?
