Anyone concerned about Grimes after he went down and stayed down until treated on Saturday? My heart sank when he looked imobile on the ground. Hope its not going to scupper his chances of playing on Friday

Grimes is a machine. Nearly a weeks rest so he will be 100% fit.

Well we were trying to defend a corner with only 9 men so I doubt it was tactical

Don't think it was. He would have waited until the ball went out of play rather than 9 v 11

Not sure how as it’s not on his instagram and I didn’t see it when he first posted 2 days ago? Plus no one mentioning it in the comments under the post?

And hopefully he hasn't caught this bug off our other players especially as it's been our defenders hit the hardest.

To be fair to him, it would be the first thing he hasn't caught!...

He hot cramp apparently! That's why he stood still and then dropped to the floor and he yanked his toes forward for a few seconds and got back on with it, as you say the guys a machine

Had a browse at their forum and hoping we wallop them. Very confident for such a poor team and still massively rattled by Grimes. As BSB said, they have Galbraith and Vipotnik, outside of that they are pretty gash. They also think our results have dropped off, i think in the context of the fixtures our results have held pretty firm, if we back them up with a home win against these we're going along very nicely indeed.

Championship clubs just preferred it when we were a basket case or plucky losers. Not allowed our moment in the sun after 25 years of shite apparently.

I would take 1-0 each game to the end of the season, it wouldn't do my heart much good, but if it gets us promoted I'm okay with it

It was cramp wasn’t it- he was keeping his leg straight to help it and physio was doing the typical cramp remedy

Assuming the centre backs are both fit (see above):-

KKH rather than Bidwell for JDS but Brau to get a run out at 70 minutes if we are cruising
Ellis Simms for Wright
four man midfield - Grimes, Torp, Eccles and Rudoni

Comfortable win....

Any news on Sakamoto yet ?
Brau to come in on the left , with Bidwell introduced after 70 mins & hopefully 3 up .
Boxing Day , full crowd & let’s make some noise .

It is going to be very difficult to predict a team for Boxing Day.

So with my best guess hat on and I'm going to say...
The defence will stay the same insofar as possible, but whichever of Kitch or Thomas is least ill will be on the bench (unless the Bidwell/Brau combo is thought to provide adequate cover).
Haji looked a little jaded and so I think he'll be rested for an Ellis start.
MVE might be a little below par but because of his long throw he will still start.
Rudoni's bruised toe looks like a problem and he should be rested or it could end up being a big problem.

Rushworth
MVE, Lati, Wolfy, Bidwell
Saka, Grimes, Eccles, Torp, EMC
Simms

Bench, Brau, Wright, Rudoni, Andrews, Allen, Wilson, Thomas or Kitch, KKH, Perry

Rudoni's bruised toe isn't a thing. It's a fake picture. He was pictured training today.

didnt we get fucked about with Middlesborough who cried off their game with a flu epidemic a few years ago

Noticed Frank said in his interview we lost a couple of guys in the last few days so we had to changethe lineup - it takes more than a couple of days to get over this bastard - MVE had it a couple of weeks ago

We escaped relegation due to them crying off!

All players are limited to one half slice of turkey and a bite of pudding, in bed by 9 o clock Christmas evening.

Unrelated, but I am showing my Christmas spirit by hosting an alll you can eat turkey dinner with heavy gravy for all Swansea players at 9 o clock that Christmas evening, unlimited puddings, and an open bar of spirits. Karaoke at midnight with a winner's award bout half 2 o clock.

They still need to be in bed by 9.

They have, happily, volunteered to lay out all cutlery ahead of time at tables and the buffet.

Of course. Wouldn't expect anything different.

No strikers? Midfield wiped out? Defenders not back and more added to the list? EMC out and Tats not back? Rushworth? Until we see the team list we won't know the full extent of the flu in our side.

It shouldn't be that bad but we won't know until we see our side named.

Why do we seem to be the only team with this much illness?? others have players missing through injury, but none are reporting sickness or flu like us. what's going on at Ryton?

Think it is just bad luck really. Typical that it has come at a time when there are so many matches in such a short period. JDS has not helped getting suspended for three games.
Think other teams will get the flu problem sooner or later, particularly when their kids go back to school, which is the big driver of epidemics.
Teams with big squads will suffer less, unfortunately.
