Torp looked so good in the advanced role, made such a difference compared to having Eccles there (not trying to slate him it’s not his natural position)

Got to hold my hands up, wasn’t sure if playing wright ahead of simms down the middle was the right call before the game but it was a masterstroke.

What a team performance. Best of the season. Every player was on it….torp and Allen’s excellent, as were the full backs but everyone was 8+ today. Battered them

Random? You praised how good Sunderland are. I ended up saying let's wait until after this game. Do you still think Sunderland are better than us?

And how does your arse feel?

I said they are assured of top 4 and over the season are better

Why you now have developed an anal fetish with me the mind can only boggle

Massive shout out for Jamie Allen, simply immense today! Covered every blade of grass and allowed Matty Grimes to dictate play. Like most, I wasn’t sure that Haji up front was the Wright call, but delighted to admit I was wrong. Enjoy your evening everyone. PUSB

You implied they are better than us. After trying to have a debate with you I conceded and said let's wait until we see how today's game goes. Would you like to try and deny any of this?

Todays game went very well but then again you did say Ellis Simms would be your first choice number 9 based on prior results

I’d politely disagree

Over the season they are. QPR aren’t equal with Leeds as they drew today.

That's still up for debate. If they carry on playing like they did today they won't be 10 points ahead of us by season's end. They have done the opposite to us, had a flying start and then struggled. They might get their shit together, they might not. Equally we can't afford to let up either.

Here we go again.

Point anywhere out where I'd prefer Simms to Wright. Would you like me to remind you where I've said they're poor at the back? Would you like me to remind you where I've said we're better than them going forward and you've disagreed with me all the way?

I'll try again. They lost their €23m loan player through injury. I hope we finish 4th and 5th either order. You make comments about this. There's a long way to go yet but in honesty you must now see it yourself.

Would you fancy our chances against Sunderland over 2 legs?

What are you guys arguing about?

Sunderland are better overall so far as they are 10pts ahead of us

Today showed that under lampard we could be better though

Def. Lampard is sussing the players out gradually and bringing the best out of a squad rather than the 11 in the team.

Astute or @Lamps has real issues with Grendel with have included threats of doxxing him followed by a whole deleted thread created to doxx him. It’s a wild obsession. Unsure why he has been allowed to change accounts tbh

Shipped 2 goals in our last 3 games against much lower teams. We need to defend much deeper against Sunderland whose effective tactic if to loft a long ball to their quick forwards.
If we use the high line we will be done for.

It was the opposite, we completely penned them in and frankly absolutely dominated them.

That's my point. Glad you agree.

When Lampard took over we were 1 point away from the relegation places. 10 wins out of 12 confirms we're not that bad. Totally outclassing 4th in the table says we're doing OK. Being 5th by 2 points says we might play 4th to get to the final. We're the form team.

Please explain where I'm wrong because I just don't get it.

Not going to start the argument up again, but I always believed that Robins would have turned things around, had he stayed.

Can't see anyway how he would have got us to where Frank Lampard has though. It's been a phenomenal change in fortunes.

Jobe Bellingham played today?

Joking aside, I fancied us to win because we’re at home and we’ve been faultless under Lampard barring a home loss v Leeds.

I fancy us to pick up points in all our remaining home games.

I overheard a funny conversation on the train from the CBS:

Coventry fan: Did Bellingham play today?

Sunderland fan: He was on the pitch

Today was another fucking phenomenal day at the CBS. I truly think that we've finally made it a fortress; the team performance, to a person, was sensational and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Wright was an utter monster and reminded me of how he single-handedly wrecked Oxford at the start of the season. Books should be written about what Lampard has done to and for Jamie Allen, who deserves heaps of praise for how he's gone from being told to find a new club at the end of last season to a key standout performer this season; another fantastic performance from him. Our back four was utterly unflappable, including and especially JDS who I am normally massively critical of but was wonderful today. Our midfield three were unstoppable, if I were an opposition fan I'd be genuinely scared of that front three.

And as an aside: Watching our team go toe-to-toe with the opposition's shithousery and MVE throwing himself at their player who took out Sakamoto after years of us being way too nice was like sex to me.

What a day. What a club <3
