Never forget some in the summer were happy for us to get rid for £2m

Struggling to think of many Championship midfielders I'd swap for Torp. Must be worth good money now.

Lovely footballer with a lot to his game. The article is right, the prospect of having a fit midfield of Grimes, Rudoni, and Torp is really exciting.

Must admit I had my doubts that this midfield three would be robust enough defensively but from what we saw at the start of the season it was more or less fine. I suppose it doesn’t matter too much if Torp scores a banger every other week.

I swear I heard or saw a stat the other day that when these 3 have started we haven't lost a game since Lampard took over. Not sure if that is true or not?

Incredible if true…although makes me now wonder how often they’ve started together.

i think torp is our key player this year. of course it doesn't hurt to have lots of other quality around him, but i think he's a great player. and will only get better.
him and rudi have the perfect manager working with them.

It's making sure we get the best out of his forward play as I think defensively he can go missing. The prime example for me was Oxford away. Also misses a few games with injuries but can't argue with his goals output

Jay Stansfield cost the same as Torp, Rudoni, Grimes, Sakamoto and BTA combined.

Let that sink in.

Just a quick scan, looks like it’s correct. But it also looks like (and this was a really quick scan) they’ve only started 9 games together.

There were several players this summer who got the 'I'll drive him there myself' treatment who have been regulars in the match day squad, if not starting XI, this season

Might even be some change left over even from those combined.

I have rated him from the day he arrived. A very fine intelligent footballer. £2.1m wouldnt buy one limb now

Love torp. Only thing he needs to do is beef up a bit. If he could add stronger defensive attributes to his game he would be the perfect midfield player and certainly prem ready

Imagine how much they’d sell for now compared to Stansfield…

After I typed my response, I did wonder...

Torp £15m
Rudoni £25m
Grimes £7.5
Sakamoto £15m
BTA £10m

£72.5m??

Probably being a bit optimistic on a couple?!

Austin was like a cartoon villain on here at one point. The bloke from St Albans who spunked generational funds.
Deserves a lot of credit for where we are right now, some respect needs to be put on Deadly Dean's name.

They may be worth that to us, to the market they are probably worth more

Torp £10m
Rudoni £25m
Grimes £6/£7m
sakamoto £4m
BTA £5m

Probably more realistic for varying reasons. Think that Torp value will crank upwards though.

Think Weeman overpriced Torp and Saka and your prices are more realistic but I'd like to think we could squeeze a few more mil for Rudoni.

Hands up I did have a go at him after the conference after the Robins sacking. Thought his reason for no loans was an obvious statement that did not hold water, as it applied to every club. Rushworth loan has been a master stroke. He should note there are other clubs than Brighton.
