Fucking dreading it.
Though last time I felt like this was Sunderland away and it turned out OK.

I’d like to see us play a full strength team for this.

Dovin
MVE
Thomas
Kitching
Bidwell
Eccles
Torp
Rudoni
Sakamoto
Simms
BTA

Assuming Sheaf is out and the formation is 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1, either works for me. I’d like to see Rapha get more minutes this game too.

Let’s just have fun with it. Best thing about the cup is there is no point trying to get a point so might as well let the handbrake off.

4-3-3
Dovin
Milan-Bobby-Kitching-Bidwell
Eccles/Sheaf
Torp-Rudoni
Sakamoto-Simms-Raphael

Why is it such a late kickoff?

I think another cup run is essential this season now, no play off push to distract.

At risk of sounding delusional, you can’t completely rule out the playoffs. 11 points isn’t that much of a gap.

It’s unlikely and I wouldn’t bet on us making it or the team putting together a winning streak. That said, stranger things have happened.

A few signings this window and Haji and EMC returning from injury and this could have a genuine new lease of life.

At the very least, I’d like for us to end the season really strongly which shows the players we have and the fans that the dream of promotion is still alive going into 2025/26.

Come on mate, you know you want to - I've got a ticket, in the safe and certain knowledge that a 17k crowd will help finance a PL loanee, who will revitalise the season.

Don't want Thomas Asante playing, being Cup tied will Devalue his transfer fee.

You're presuming someone in the 4th round of the cup will be after him.

Think it’s got to be the first team just because we need all the practice we can get at the moment.

Will be a better atmosphere than a league game I reckon. Often smaller crowds are better as it's the hardcore.

Lampard is still shuffling and working out the measure of Doug's top six deck. He has to go with what he thinks is the strongest team available to him. He may not get it right but he is still on that learning curve.

My mindset is still open with no expectations. The club is at a reset position and we might have to go backwards to go forwards

The past has gone and the future awaits to be discovered.

While I personally value your contributions to this forum, I'm struggling to understand the current level of almost vitriolic negativity regarding this specific fixture. The £13 ticket price point makes this match accessible for families, allowing them to attend for roughly the cost of a single adult ticket of a Category A game.
I notice some points from the "£13 FA Cup game" thread are being revisited here, but I believe this competition deserves more optimism. While everyone has the right to choose whether to attend, it's worth remembering that this cup brought those of us who didn't witness '87 closest to creating our most amazing footballing memories. For those of us invested in the cup, please let us embrace the possibility of another deep cup run, especially given the current circumstances.
As a side note, I share your assessment of Doug's capabilities in football business operations. He appears to prefer learning through experience and right now I genuinely think he is wondering if sacking Robins, pissing of a section of the fan base off panicking about ST renewals and having to invest in Lampards transfer wishes were really harder than getting a competent no2.

It was regarding the absurd notion from SBT that it would be a 'great atmosphere ' nothing to do with Doug
