The ball of the game and Gurney asks " what is Allen doing there " , absolute whopper
Bring back Clive, similarities getting over excited, nah only kidding mYeah, but if it had been Clive he would have said "Great ball by Allen there and the Scunthorpe Utd defence are nowhere to be seen. Now all Haji Wright has to do is to square the ball to Mason-Clark...no, I mean MVE, no, I mean Sakamoto... oh, it's Asante."
May have something to do with being at home though?Think people went on about the tactics vs Wrexham a little too much post Friday. Reality is we can play the 4-2-4 effectively when we’re essentially full strength.
There’s an enormous gap between MvE/Bobby/DaSilva/Torp vs KKH/Wolf/Bidwell/Allen.
would’ve liked to see Frank freshen things up around 80 mins with Simms or somebody as it was clear the ball wasn’t sticking up top.
Huge win and great character shown, beat Stoke and potentially 7 clear heading into the international break which would be dreamland.
Also Bobby is 10x the player Tanganga is. Dodged an enormous bullet selling him.
that team should be winning . 3-1
We seemed very lethargic first halfJust in from the game. Thought their heads dropped a little in the first half after they scored. Almost as though they were feeling the occasion and the importance of wanting to bounce back from Wrexham. Second half a different story, as soon as we equalised their tales were up and it's as though their confidence came back.
A big difference EMC made, instantly felt the game was going to change. He gave us an outlet down that left and they didn't have an answer for it. I noticed in the first half every time we tried to play down the left BTA would make a run inside. Not his fault, just his instinct is going to make him drift inwards, we couldn't break them down as a result. Good to see a half time change.
What a difference it made having Thomas back in the line up, a brick wall. MOTM.
Tats work rate again brilliant.
Shout out to Jamie Allen for that energy he came on with and burst at the end.
PUSB
Yeah, there was a strange vibe about it.We seemed very lethargic first half
EMC energised us massively from the start of the second half
I'm not convinced EMC energised us, the whole team lifted their intensity by 15-20%. I'd put it more down to the half time team talk.We seemed very lethargic first half
EMC energised us massively from the start of the second half
Oh well, winning was fun while it lasted
And the decline begins....
Shithousing starts at 27 mins. It's over.
we will revert to our natural 6-7th place
We look awful wtf
This is shit
Lampard is going to be an all or nothing manager.
Ohare is embarrassing us
Total opposite of the reaction expected
BTA looks a pub player again
Our levels are so poor today.
We were awful before the goal
Feels like we’ve been sussed out.
We need Rudoni back asap.
Fucking wank Friday and wank tonight
Sliding down the table as fast as we came up.
Early equaliser 3-1
Twat.Love a lil' Match Thread post mortem after a win!
McCallum, O'Hare and Peck were great for them. The rest ranged from ok to poor.I actually thought McCallum was arguably their best player tonight
One thing Chris Wilder teams really don’t often do is concede 6 in 2, but their defence looked miles off it. Sub keeper was dire too.also tanganga, what the hell is he doing at tats goal? league 2 stuff
Credit to Sheff Utd, pressed us right from the off but you can’t keep that up for 90 mins, no coincidence we looked better when Eccles went off, he does what you expect he should do but hasn’t got that bit extra, started the 2nd half with the team that got us where we are and showed why, that 2nd half was some statement, we could have just folded but showed we’ve got that fight in us as well, we’ve got something special going and it’s brilliant,Yeah, there was a strange vibe about it.
He did, massively. I suspect Eccles didn't have more than 45 in him, but i think we would've made the change regardless.
Much more like ourselves for most parts of that second half, and exactly what we needed heading into Stoke.
Lying down on Bobby trying to stop him getting up.also tanganga, what the hell is he doing at tats goal? league 2 stuff
Lost his berth as well hasn't he?Refuse to believe that is the same Japhet Tanganga that played for Millwall last season and was comfortably the best player on the park when we played them over the festive period last year
He looked like an absolute calamity tonight
McCallum, O'Hare and Peck were great for them. The rest ranged from ok to poor.
I'm not one to bear ill will to O'Hare. He moved on and he probably picked the wrong club. It happens. McCallum was sold and his going helped keep the lights on.Yes McCallum and O’Hare were their two best players. I wonder if either regrets leaving us? I did think if we had both in our squad we would look very strong.
We got McCallum back on loan for 1.5 seasons too, it was a great deal for the club.I'm not one to bear ill will to O'Hare. He moved on and he probably picked the wrong club. It happens. McCallum was sold and his going helped keep the lights on.
Spot on. I said at the game, these are the types of games early last season, that we don't lift our heads and go on to lose.Credit to Sheff Utd, pressed us right from the off but you can’t keep that up for 90 mins, no coincidence we looked better when Eccles went off, he does what you expect he should do but hasn’t got that bit extra, started the 2nd half with the team that got us where we are and showed why, that 2nd half was some statement, we could have just folded but showed we’ve got that fight in us as well, we’ve got something special going and it’s brilliant,
