Nothing marginal about it. Positionally he was off by a mile. He didn’t touch the ball but clearly blocked the keeper’s view.

Poor old Steve Cook pushed in the back by Bobby Thomas for the goal allegedly. Karma for the time he got Hamer sent off at St Andrews.

Sam Field went up with Bobby Thomas for the winner too, but it was Steve Cook who went down whilst jostling with Bobby Thomas just as the ball was played in. Presume some of a QPR persuasion claimed it was a foul, not sure myself (and I don't have much sympathy even if it were).

Steve Cook, whilst playing for Bournemouth, got involved with Gus Hamer that resulted in Hamer being red carded in the Covid season, if memory serves he reacted to a challenge...maybe Adam Smith on Dabo?

Never a foul, QPR keeper bumped into his own player.

In fairness, based on what I've seen, QPR fans are not claiming a foul on the keeper but a foul on Cook by Thomas. My comment was simply correcting someone who claimed it was Field who was stated to have been fouled, but it was not. Field was also challenging backpost with Thomas, but there has not been a suggestion of a foul on him.

Despite looking at it a few times, I cannot say for certain whether it was a foul on Cook by Thomas, but what I have seen, there is definite contact on Cook by Thomas, and there was by Cook on Thomas, but the incident appears to happen just before Rudoni takes the corner (although he is deep within his kicking motion).

Thomas had his shirt ripped off by Cook earlier in his game, but a foul was called on Thomas and free-kick given to QPR. For the last play although there was some jostling going on between the same 2 players, I think the referee saw it as Thomas outmatching Cook Cook for the ball and swallowed his whistle. Fine margins.

It's nice to see us show physicality. Too many years we been passive and bullied even though we enjoyed success results wise

Cook falls over his own player Field who is the one goes down when Thomas jumps? Before that there is not a chance of a foul

It's before, and you need a wider view. QPR fans seem to be claiming a nudge by Thomas on Cook was a foul.

This occurs as Thomas is running in with Cook, pretty much as Rudoni is performing his backlift to take the corner.

I am not saying it's a foul (the ball probably wasn't even in play at that point), just pointing out there was contact and when, just to make sure everyone can see the actual incident.

If that’s a foul then at every corner players, of both sides, would have been booked for shirt pulling, arms around and blatant blocking. Less in that by Thomas than any other corner in the game.

Definitely no foul for the goal. What is doing my head in is the amount of pushing and pulling and faffing about before a corner is taken. Stop it and get on with it ffs.

Really close game, QPR are certainly no mugs and have a few standout players in attack. I don’t think the box worked, Simms looked isolated as Tats stayed out-wide and Rudi kept dropping deep looking for the ball, but credit to Lampard - he could see we were under the cosh and made the changes.

Grimes looks a classy operator & the save from Dovin was world class - I think if that went in we loose 1-0. I would persist with the 5 ATB Saturday put bring BTA back in to partner Simms up top. Give EMC another half an hour and then unleash him from the start against Preston.

Feel now if EMC is fit to start games, would like us to move to the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. Can always shift to a 5-4-1 if needed later in the game.

How those tussle between EMC and Dunne in our own penalty area before the end didn't end in yellow or red cards is a miracle. It was blatant man handling

Pretty sweet to score in the time added on for the now weekly keeper sitting on the floor for a rest routine. Lampard has made us a lot more street wise but I'm glad we don't partake in that bullshit, unlike 90% of the shithouse clubs in this league.

Problem is, who is going to be the 1 up front? I think Frank is not sure on any of them upto now hence swapping them around. Simms plus one seems to work to a degree, but not Simms alone, BTA alone is a waste of space and Norman is keen but nowhere near the mark. I think the plan may well come to fruition when Haji returns from injury

433 gets more players around him. It’s 541 that really isolates our striker.

You are right. But minutes before they were also at it and should have had yellows. The second incident in the netting would have seen both off

I don't think anyone on here has, to be honest. Only QPR fans.

I was surprised the ref didn't, in the context of previous decisions, but I think it was just about the right call.

Personally don’t feel Simms had a bad game last night and did a lot of the busy work but we struggled to create anything until he came off apart from set pieces.

Think with a run out, he could do a job in the 4-2-3-1 but do feel Haji will slot in there once fit.

Simms will be fine on his own once we go back to 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 which surely we have to on Saturday? Rudi and Saka on the wings until EMC is fit enough to start

Simms is decent with a good partner. Sakamoto was never going to be that. though, and I think he was only on the pitch for a plan to go 433 and bring on EMC in the second half. I seriously thought we would have stuck with the 5 3 2 formation that won us 5 on the bounce but swapping out Allen for Grimes and Bidwell for JDS

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the 5-3-2 but it’s a difficult formation for us to fit our best players into and to attack the space in considering the focus on possession.

Wouldn’t be opposed to us using it for games against the top four, Sheffield United for example but feel for games where we can dominate the ball we need to be more aggressive in our shape
