Sheffield Wednesday aside who quite frankly have an excuse to be shit, PNE are the worst side I have seen us play all season

Impressively negative to start time wasting after 40 seconds and putting 11 men behind the ball at 3-0 down

Hats off to the limited number of their fans who made the journey, I think I would sooner watch paint dry if that is what they have to put up with every week - Quite how they were in a play off hunt until recently is anyone's guess

I must be deaf then because aside from the final 10 minutes I thought the atmosphere was woeful
I thought the crowd was poor last night, slight spike in noise when news of Boro's result filtered through but poorest atmosphere of the season

In fairness, the game was wrapped within 30 mins and turned into a glorified training game after that, and with no more than 400 away fans there was no toing and throwing with them either so I am not shocked it was a bit flat

Some saying Sakamoto's foul on McCann was a red card and EMC's penalty was a dive, ref didn't react to either so will it be looked at retro?? knowing our luck, both will get banned

Would love to know the last time we scored 5 goals in 2 games, that were shitter goals than Bristol & Preston!! Doesn't matter how they go in of course. Even Saka's header at Bristol should have been saved. I thought we were smooth last night, disciplined, and managed the game brilliantly. Back 4, Grimes & Frank all excellent, but there was a lack of quality in the final third. EMC was below par, BTA was busy, scored and was unlucky with that low curling shot in the first half, but I still don't think he's a No.10, and he lost the bal a lot. Really missed Rudoni last night. Would be interested to see Torp pushed into that role, he can pick a pass and score a goal
Simms was excellent. Led the line really well. Unlucky not to have scored the 2nd. Markelo & KKH were both lively off the bench. Esse may have boosted our squad in terms of numbers and cover, but he's not close to the level of Sakamoto, and EMC (when he's playing well).
