Article in FLW quoting Chris Deez, a City fan, about who Haji Wright will replace when returning.

Thomas-Asante is sort of going back to the inconsistent form which we saw from him in the first place. He has gone four games without scoring now.

"We have played Burnley and Leeds in those four games, so fair enough - Burnley don’t concede goals and Leeds don’t concede many either - but there is something about Thomas-Asante that doesn’t click for me.

Anybody else remember the Burnley game? I know they're boring, but.........?!

Bit harsh. Since he last scored we’ve played Leeds and Ipswich (who I assume are Burnley is disguise), then he didn’t start at QPR just came on for 25 mins, then Sheff Wed where he came off after an hour.

So outside of effectively PL teams he’s not scored for 90 mins.

I've seen that Deez chump in a few of their articles & he talks absolute crap so I'd pay no attention to him

I stay at Edwin’s Lusianas next to the Goa Village. Loads of Russians on the beach at Win-Wins . If your staying at that end then go to Mikes beach shack, no Russians . I’m staying at Titos Orange Sky beach huts here in Agonda and not seen any Russians which is brilliant

I was in Thailand last month and most of the tourists there were Russian. Had no problems with them whatsoever.

Back on the game, i hear they've lost 3 in 17 which is a pretty decent run! A win here would feel incredibly sweet.

Some decent results in there recently.

Whatever happens no one is scoring more than 2 I reckon.

Yeh agreed, can not see us winning by more than 1 if we do pull it off i think it will involve a lot of patience and probably a few yawns.

I think Dasilva plays out of choice when we go 352 tbh. When we’ve got EMC on that side it’s Bidwell because we don’t need the extra attacking player. I’d expect Bidwell to be fit to start, he only missed one game and has been back for a while. Also Saddle said he was.

...much as I love EMC, he's not the world's most alert player or good at tracking back

Same as every other game when I looked yesterday. Usual gaps behind the goal and in the corner.

Pato on for last 20 mins to get the winner. Go to go 4-3-3 in prep for Wright comeback in next few weeks and in order for us to get best out of EMC and Tats.

...which is why, if he is unfit (which was the context of the comment) and Da Silva plays, it has to be 5 at the back. Four including Da Silva and an uncertain EMC would be suicidal imho

Oh yeah agree 100%. Wouldn’t play Dasilva in a back four.

Would rather play Binks or Kitching especially if the plan is for the 3-2-5

Maybe, though I’m not a fan of either defensively. I can see @Chicken Mcgraw s case for MvE as part of the back three in possession for pace in a high line and then I’d rather have Dasilva on the left I think than Bidwell in the final third. But not a huge amount in it.

I think Bidwell would be required for set pieces without that third centre back. Having Sakamoto, Dasilva, MVE potentially Allen too would be suicide. Look at what happened in the first 5 mins of Lampard’s first game.

I'd be happy with that.

2 for Simms, 2 for EMC, 2 for Saka and 1 each for Thomas, Grimes and Allen.

In the 35 league matches since we left them behind in Div 2 in 1967, I reckon we've

Won 2
Drawn 12
Lost 21

And this is how miserable that looks in picture format -

What a game that 2004 match was though

We were sensational in that first half. If I remember correctly, it was about a 15-20 minutes spell where we just cut through them like butter.

4 nil at half time wasn't it?

Bjarni Gudjonsson absolutely murdered them. He missed a pen for the hat-trick though.

We'd done the same to Burnley the game before as well. That one was particularly memorable with the female Burnley fan flashing the WT.

What a time to be alive.

I don’t think it is.

Don’t get me wrong I hope we do but the 3 points at Wednesday means even a draw keeps us on track ….

Hope so, of all the teams to thump it would be nice for it to be Preston

I do feel like we're due a good 3-0 or 4-1 or something soon though.
