I personally haven’t said that for a while. But in this instance I will only accept a win. If we don’t win I’m going to support a different team, maybe Preston.

The BBC is reporting that the FA will receive the referees report on the Hannibal/Osmajic mess. Hoping the hearing happens very soon and that xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx does not play on Saturday!

Said we needed a strong ref at Sheff Wed, and a weak ref there may have resulted in a different outcome, with their dodgy pen claims. Need a tough ref against Preston, as they will try to out battle us, and I suspect leave the boot in. Not a game for faint hearts.
Someone said on here quoting a Preston fan I think. Preston spend £10 million every season and finish tenth They will think they have a chance of the play offs, so a close game.

They've spent more like £5M this season. We've spent maybe £15M.

We seem to have a helluva good recent home form, barring Leeds. I'm pretty much an optimist and ignoring this so-called Preston curse, didn't we break some Swansea curse not too long ago?
City win. Let's go with.... 3 - 0.
Always back Simms for a goal or three. An odd toe touch goal from Norm may also be due. PUSB.

I'm quietly confident of a 2-0 win

A back 4, but adding Allen into the middle ahead of a fit Torp for extra protection/more energy. Eccles is going through a bad patch atm and Torp alongside Rudi, Saka & EMC just worries me on someone being able to drop and support Grimes and the back 4 if needed....I feel Allen is more aware on defensive duties than Torp is.

Dovin
MVE, Thomas, Kitching, Bidwell
Allen, Grimes, Rudoni
Saka, Simms, EMC

Simms and Rudi with the goals

One thing I will say about Preston you will never find anyone on their forum gloating and bragging about their record against us. If we could only match their overriding philosophy that the past is the past and that Saturday is a completely new day.
If we can do that and I believe Frank represents a bright new dawn with our bogey sides then I think we have the players to win the game.

4 at the back, but make sure it's compact and not too much pushing high up the pitch from the full backs. I'd start Allen as well, with Grimes and Rudoni.

Hopefully a nice tough game tonight for them. Plenty of niggle, either way its a bonus for us ahead of saturday.

We will win, and fancy we may start to put a performance together also.

I think the mentality (between fans anyway) at the moment, is this hoodoo is ridiculous. We're on a great run, playing at home and key players are starting to find form. Preston are a solid Championship side and will be physical and time waste etc, but we're a different beast under Lampard. Coud Haji be on the bench?

Only quoting their fan. Have spent big in the past and tend to just miss out on the play offs.

I'm sure we could get at least 60 mins out of EMC so I think we go four at the back.

Risky considering our recent form with 5 at the back, but I think now is the time to do it.

As soon as Haji is on the bench, we start 433. An outside chance this weekend maybe, with a full week of training with the squad under his belt?

I want to see us get back to Torp and Rudoni in midfield as dual 8s. We've been at our best when they've been breaking forward to support attacks.

You will likely see that when Sheaf returns. A midfield trio of Torp, Rudoni and Grimes is a bit soft.

Think you will find we were at our best when Allen came back in to midfield and he moved us forward instead of all the backwards and sideways passing we were having

Not according to Lampard. Outside chance of Sheaf this weekend. Haji next weekend at the earliest maybe Stoke.

I find that odd though, as Haji is visible in this weeks training images - just as EMC was before he returned. Whereas Sheaf isn't to be seen?

Wright has been out for a lot longer though, Lampard said he’s got a lot of work to do before he’s ready to be considered maybe two weeks worth.

I think Dasilva plays out of choice when we go 352 tbh. When we’ve got EMC on that side it’s Bidwell because we don’t need the extra attacking player. I’d expect Bidwell to be fit to start, he only missed one game and has been back for a while. Also Saddle said he was.

Would a Boro win, Cov win and Oxford draw or win put us in the top six?

Yeah Boro draw too. Really want Blackburn to lose. They need to get dragged back down.

Actually Boro draw would be better as they’ve got a game in hand.

But there was all this stuff about an abductor muscle injury - clearly it was better than that hopefully
