Anyway, it would work better if they allowed Wright to float out to the left more imo, it's too rigid up there. That's just my opinion anyway.

I doubt when they discussed bringing in EMC for the price they did they were sat there like "is this too much for a backup left winger?" They don't look at it like fans do, they saw a player worth bringing into the group. If you're too stupid to understand that then crack on.

Also you: "WhO GaF WhAt YoU ThInK."

Such irony. But yeah, I'm the stupid one. I've genuinely seen ogres stumble into a job centre with more intelligance than you.

You're using yours to backup your "shoehorning" theory, which is based on nothing. I'm just giving an opinion on the match I watched. What an insufferable, boring c**t you are.
Spend much time in the job centre?

EMC was decent last night and more of a threat than Wright. Feel like folks don't give him enough credit for how well he holds the ball up under pressure and retains possession to keep us up the pitch.

It's his first season at this level so I'm not gonna decide he's sh*t or expensive based on two games vs. teams more effective than us, especially when he wasn't obviously worse than others in those games.

I watched Collins during warm up and he doesn't seem capable of a high vertical jump.
If you watch the corner, where they hit the bar. He is out jumped by outfield players AND given the reach of his arms he should have reached the ball in his 6 yard box.

Where would you rank that in the list of last minute winners this season ? For me it’s behind Stoke & Sheff Wed but above Luton, Oxford & QPR. Am I missing any ?

Not this season, but it reminded me a bit like the Blackburn away game with Wilson scoring in my view.

So much resting on the game at this point of the season and to get something out of it in the last minute (yes I know that one was only a draw) breathes life into everything.

I still feel like I'm half full of adrenaline.

I thought Mason Clark provided a good option out on the left side and put them under some pressure, but the final ball was often poor (wasn't just an issue with him tbf).
We've seen what he can do in form before his recent injury so I still think he has more to give

The hilarious thing is, you yourself have admitted Wright is better on the left so you're literally proving my point. He's therefore being deployed in a position where he isn't as effective as he would be if he was played in his more comfortable role (out wide).

Do you understand the definition of shoehorning? I'll surmise it for you in layman's terms as I highly doubt you've ever come across a Dictionary on your daily travels to Bargain Booze and back. It means making something fit that doesn't really fit.

Fuck me, do you have an off button?
I prefer him on the left, but there's also an argument he's our best striker, Lampard obviously sees it that way thus there is no shoehorning. As i've said he is free to stick Wright on the left and put Simms through the middle and he is not doing that. If he did do that you'd just have people moaning about Simms rather than EMC so you can't really win.

You're using the same insults on me you use when you argue with Earlsdon, mix it up a bit.

This is a sad day for me really coming off last night as i've always had good thoughts of the town i grew up in and the people in it, unfortunately i seem to have stumbled across the town bore.

Not that Haji Wright had a good game last night, nor do I doubt he'd be more effective at LW. But he's scored four goals in four games since moving to CF, so I'm not sure we're about to abandon this experiment just yet.

Agree, and Simms touch is awful and he is so laboured in everything he does, its like it happens in slow motion. Even when he came on he managed to give the ball away everytime it came near him.

Simms and Wright arent the same kind of striker, so we either need to play to their respective strengths or expect everyone else to contribute more goals.

Wright doesnt want to play with his back to goal, so stop making him. Play a ball infront of him like the 3! Times we did against sunderland and you get a better end result.

EMC was poor and he seems to have lost confidence, he isn't shooting and doesn't seem to have a clear idea in his head about what he's going to do. Wright has got to go out to the left at Hull.

It depends on the opposition though, Portsmouth backline was deep in so we had to play in front of them. Sunderland played higher up the pitch which gave Wright space to run into..

Has he had a decent game since his return from injury... he may have, but I'm at a loss to think of one.

I agree with playing Haji inside left on Monday.

Right, and that's fine.

But does that not mean we as fans we're allowed a counter opinion to managerial decisions based on what we see week in week out or as you've claimed are we not allowed an opinion because 'who gaf'.

It's funny how you're clearly perfectly entitled to one though - but of course, I'm the uneducated one... the phrase those in glass houses must be lost on you I guess.

Oh no you've left Kenilworth have you? One less lowlife I have to worry about then that's good news.

Spot on here - seems so confused when he got the ball last night. He actually got into some great positions, time and time again - final ball horrific.

Needs leaving out for a game for me.

Overall Performance irrelevant at this time of season. 3 points huge.

You can give an opinion but i can give the opinion that your claim of "shoehorning" is nonsense. We wouldn't do that just as we wouldn't discuss a £4 million winger as a backup winger when going over transfer targets.

The funny thing is you tried to flex your intellectual superiority before i did so don't try and play victim there either. I don't claim to be mega intelligent but none of your attempts at one-upmanship have really hit the mark so we can probably leave it there.

I do visit occasionally so you aren't entirely safe i'm afraid.

In fairness to EMC he contributed a greater threat than Sakamoto. Wright and Sakamoto between them had less touches of the ball than EMC.

Sorry, have I missed something?

Wright has started 4 games up front, with 3 of those against some of the best defences in the league, and scored 4 goals. But apparently he’s not effective there?

He is effective there but wasn't last night with the way Pompey set up . He wants to run in behind and stretch defences but Pompey were sat so deep it wasn't possible . All last night did was reinforce the weaknesses in Wrights game in that he isn't a natural competitor for 50/50 challenges and doesn't anticipate the ball into feet early enough

One for us and one for the opposition.

It was going short but Ogilvy, probably knackered, completely mistimed his jump. However how Rudoni had the energy in his legs to do that little jink before his cross, God only knows.

Definitely, that could be this season’s Blackburn moment. Blackburn might only have been a draw but it also stopped Blackburn pulling away from us. That point (and Blackburn losing 2 points) was critical in the end and put us in the playoffs.

Paterson might actually need to start soon regardless with the games coming thick and fast. Could always hook him at half time if he's blowing.

Wondering that although it seems harsh, Paterson for Tats. I agree the criticism of EMC is over the top but he does need to improve his final delivery. It's useless beating your man and then hitting a ball to the man in the third row of the stand opposite

What do people actually want though? Simms was finally given a run of games that everyone was asking for and generally the thinking was that Simms wasn't doing enough and didn't deserve to keep his place in the team. Most wouldn't start BTA (who isn't fit anyway) or Bassette i assume? So where does that leave you?
Is Wright our best Left Forward? Yes
Is Wright our best Centre Forward? Probably also yes, even though he was poor last night
He's scored more than the others would have in the small sample i'm 100% sure of that.
