We really weren't, one goal came off an unlucky bobble off Simms shin the other was shite but they missed the driving header and the ball was not easy to track their striker had to knob it in.

Not saying we were great defensively but Oxford were incredibly lucky

Prior to that they briefly had the momentum and threatened a little. It honestly shouldn’t have come to this. We should have been 2 or 3 nil up at halftime, and killed it off. Reminded me of our game versus Watford a couple of seasons ago where we lost 3-2 away from home.

I can enjoy the weekend now. Phew. Some very good performances from MVE, Binks, Rudoni and Wright. Thought DaSilva was good again coming on and linking well.

I can't believe some are asking questions of EMC after just 1 week of the season. He's seriously rated in the game and I love the pace that we now have across our forwards both in the starters and finishers. We're going to be a nightmare for teams in the final 20-30 with that pace available to us. Also like Palmer in that finisher role.

so two or three observations from tonight…

1) this game last season we would’ve perhaps drawn, or even lost, and these are the kind of games you look back on at the end of the season when you’ve just missed out on autos / playoffs and say ‘if only’ - we needed to win that, and it was well deserved

2) fuck me some people have a weird take on football, EMC clearly has talent, Torp is a very good midfielder, Palmer is a luxury player but a great luxury to have, Eccles played very well today - he’s not flair but we don’t need every player to be, Bidwell worked very well with Haji and his (obviously unnoticed by some) work meant Haji could do what he did

3) a game of football is 90 minutes, so when you wet the bed after 55 mins be prepared to sleep in pissy sheets for the next half hour or so

And that can be worked on . At this stage last season we were woeful in front of goal . Tonight with a bit more luck and composure we could have had 5or 6

And people are popping off about in-play comments long after the game is over. It’s tragic.

We beat them convincingly, they never had a sniff. We might not be the guaranteed bottom three you think we are. You might just be quite good. We play to counter attack

you’re a mullet of a team . Very tidy up front but the back looks a bit of a mess. Think you’ll be right up there but play offs unless you tidy that defence up

Ps can someone come volunteer to collect boosh from our forum now . What a cockwomble he is

Robins spoke really well on the sky interview post match. Frustrated by the silly errors at the back. We are really lucky to have him as a manager.

Need a DM desperately to cut the passing lines and cover the attacking fallbacks.

Not seen that. The bed wetting comments I’ve seen are all post match. There’s people in the ratings threads handing out 5s!!

Well it was almost 2-2. If they just sat back we shouldn’t have conceded and hammered them 4 or 5 nil. But they attacked to the extent they could and fair play to them scored with whatever chances came their way (largely due to our sloppiness at the back as well). Last week’s result versus Norwich was also a very good one. Anyway they don’t look like a team that will struggle to stay up, especially if they are as lucky as they were today. Cheers.

The foundations are there, the stats say we dominated, midfield we need another leader.

Bidwell has made 2 massive mistakes in the last 2 games costing us 2 goals, he concerns me.

Some sloppy passes by Eccles, better teams will punish us if we continue to make wayward passes.

It is early days and proved we can have the forwards to score goals. Much improved performance compared to Stoke.

Oxford fan absolutely fewmin that we celebrated a last minute winner.

Apparently it's because of how good they are and as we spent more than them we should just sit and give some gentle applause.
