This one is at Lampard's door. If you keep doing the same thing, then do not be surprised if you keep getting the same result.

He played his favoured team and formation v QPR and guess what we got a sub-standard performance yet again. Even the home wins v Swansea, Millwall and Leicester were underwhelming.

He has to mix it up in some way. Yang or Esse will come in for EMC, but that is not a change that will make much difference. I bet he does not throw Frank the Tank in either although he should.

I'd go three at the back and tell MVE and JDS to get forward, Or something like that. Just try something to throw the opposition off track

...and less of the reliance on Rushworth for both saves and long punts, and MVE's long throws. Let's see some variety

We’ve lost one home game all season. He’s not going to make wholesale changes for this game.

there are a few that need a rest. I'd bench EMC if fit, def Wolf for Kitch and KKH for da silva. I think MVE needs a rest but if I'm starting KKH on the left then hes playing. But hes not taking any long throws!

The new fella absolutely has to start, weve been in the doldrums for too long now, i do feel if he doesnt make wholesale changes the poor run of form will continue, we have zero confidence at the back.

TBF to him he's played 97.5% of our league minutes this season and probably covered the most ground.

Which is a bit mad really given we spent £4m on a backup right back in the summer!

I didn't know he's The Venerable Da Silva.

which is why I want him to prove that it's not Haji deciding where Haji plays and Frank starts him on the left with Simms down the middle. He's clearly the best option that's fit to start a game that we have to win.

I think it is a myth that Wright is in any way forcing his playing down the middle. Lampard, same as Viveash at least before him can see Wright as a centre forward with the attributes he has, and he is the best in that position at the club.

I don't want Haji on the left, only if it's the best option for a game or two. If we were in a good spot and not under pressure to turn form around I'd be fine with Minni starting. Main thing I don't want it Esse playing out of position when he's started pretty well.

Why would Wright play on the left when we have 84 wingers.

He won his last two home games playing his favoured formation, like he's won most this season. Why on earth would you change it?

To instil a change in system and integrate new signings during a less high-pressured match, I suppose. But I think we can win the game the usual way.

Oh yeah I agree with you that if EMC is out I'd play him left over Minnie. I just don't think he's the blocker to that happening

We’ve built this whole squad around playing a 451 ( we forgot to sign the defenders to do it ) but we’re not changining formation home or away with 16 games left,

Yeah, hopefully I'm using 2+2 to get five - the chat from last season about Haji insisting he play in the middle and the goss. that Minni isn't ready to start games and seeing Esse start there.

In fairness to Minnie, a home game where we've got a lot of the ball might be a better time for him to come into the side

The fans need to appreciate that team
Morale will have been dented a bit by those last two defeats and that they need to get behind them , because this squad has got us to top of the league. Forget expecting a win like it’s a given, they need to get back on the ‘oss tomorrow and the support will be vital! 🩵

Although today isn't strictly speaking a "must win" match, I can't help but feel that it's important that we do.

A win will help to restore some confidence in the team and set us up for the Middlesborough game. It would be lovely if Onyeka plays and shows us what he can bring to the team.

This is must win, Oxford at home. They always have goals in them so we'll need to be solid at the back!

Anyone thinking this is not a must win is in a different planet.

We don’t have a define right to win any game, but with the 2 defeats, second bottom Oxford, a premier league midfielder making his debut (hopefully), Hull only drawing midweek, Boro next Monday, 16 games left.

We simply have to win

And I think we will

We just need to be on the front foot, one of this slow passing around at the back.

A comfortable 3 nil win, strikers amongst the goals, a few results going our way elsewhere over the weekend, and something for us to laugh at from the wrong end of the A45/M69.

Every game is a must win for me now. We’ve absolutely crumbled away the 13 point gap. Win today and let’s hope Hull, boro and Ipswich all drop points

Its 100% a must win game. Its the very epitome of a must win game. Its the most must win game of the season!!!
Win it and we can turn a corner, lose it and we are in a nose dive.

Lose to an injury plagued Oxford and the slide to 7th place becomes a reality.
And weve got an in form Middlesbrough comming up!
