Bury are second in mine too.

All very strange considering how bad they are.

I won league 1 and the JPT in my first season. No money, not many buys.

2nd season I retained Reece Brown on a free transfer and bought Juilan de Guzman and Simao and Blakeman. All on free's, wagebill fecked! Sold Bell. Finished 19th, board expectations was to consolidate, they still got pissy though!!

3rd season is going to be the toughest, im in pre-season. Had to release Elliot as he wants 10k a week the moron, I have little players as there being released or sold and its hard to acquire any players... All my targets are rejected me due to low wage budget!

I love FM, dont get me wrong.... but it shows some of its faults when in reality he wouldn't be sold for this haha, the max we'd get for him would be under 100k

Been playing BETA version of game, started a new game to see if any of the short term loans are there and they are not.

Gutted I had the same experience. I also felt a bit let down with the under 21s league not being added and still called the reserve league. Think they dropped the ball a bit this year, definitely disappointed.

Genuinely expected short terms loans to be included. Disappointed too.
Mind you ... happens a lot as a Cov fan... being disappointed. Lets hope the Sky Blues prove me wrong tomorrow.

It is pretty annoying without the most recent loans. However it only takes 5 minutes max to put them on yourself.

Found he's injury and suspension prone, Gardner is due to go back soon so he'll be first choice then.

4th season going for promotion to the premiership this season!!

J. Steele
Blakeman - Edje - Wood - R.Brown
Moussa - Frimpong
Downing -------------------- Cabral
McGoldrick - Fleck/Barreto

I would suggest to anyone to sort the coaching out first off all, most important part of managing Cov in my opinion! Then make sure they are being utilised properly. Also train Fleck to be an Advanced Forward, the guy is a monster!!!

Well, I've just woke up on the morning of my birthday and I'm hoping the mrs picked up on the hints of what to get me this year. If not, I'm off buying a copy anyway!

Going to start a game with Cov tonight, will add in the loan players that are missing using the editor.

When i start with Cov I always like to use the current squad and not buy or sell any players until the January window so I turn off 'enable transfer budgets in first window' or whatever the option is called. I like to keep it as close to what we have to work with in real life as possible and then try and strengthen in January. Yes I'm a bit sad I know.

Villa loanees Lichaj and Herd are great, particularly Herd. I had them and also Lappin from Norwich and Suazo (I think that's what he was called). I was 2nd in November and looking good. Then the game crashed so had to re-start which I did last night. Signed the same loanees but with Hulse up top instead of Suazo.

I play 4-3-1-2, Fluid, Standard, Short passing, man marking, drill crosses, press more with Fleck (AM behind the front two) the playmaker and McGoldrick the target man.

Seems to be working a treat!

Sold Roy O'D, Bell (even though injured), McSheff and Cody and now have a transfer budget (approx £500k) and about £18k in wages spare per week. I need to beef up the defence and the squad in general. Any good tips on young potential stars who would hapilly warm the bench would be greatly appreciated! :claping hands:

Andi Weimann on loan after Elliot got injured for 4 months. 5 in 7 so far. I sold mcgoldrick pre season, stats don't look too great
Went off the boil a bit with hulse getting injured at the same time, played Ball as my target man instead, no where near as good

I've started playing on classic mode as Hinckley instead. Much quicker seasons and this way can start from the bottom.

Not sure if I'll continue my Cov game on main mode, too slow.

Guys, I've installed the new football manager after checking my laptops capability on 'can you run it' which said my laptop would run ok. However, either as its loading or as I'm picking a team, a message box pops up saying

'XML parsing error!

Not well -formed (invalid token) at line 1 of current_language.xml'

It either freezes or the laptop logs itself off and on again. Has anyone hot any idea what the problem is?

Started a game with Cov last night. Made a few changes to the database using the editor...

First of all I put the loan players in that were missing (Bailey, Henderson, Reckord). Then I made some changes to player’s ability. I didn’t go mad increasing all players abilities and making the team much stronger than they should be or anything like that. I swapped a few values around, for example...

Christie is rated better than Clarke on the game. In my opinion it’s the other way round so I swapped their values. Same thing with Malaga and Cameron. Same thing with ROD and Cody. Made Bell a lot worse as well!! So as you can see I’m not making the overall squad any better which would be cheating, just making sure that certain players are better than certain other players, as I believe they are in real life. Just like it to be as realistic and have the best team as close to our best team in real life.

Anyway, on to my game...

Wood was injured the day after I started the game, out for 6 months!! McSheff, Baker, Reece Brown, Cameron, Christie and Bell all fairly long term injuries as well after pre season.

I normally play 4-2-3-1, but with injuries I'm playing 442 at the moment

Murphy

Clarke – Cameron - Brown – Reckord

Moussa - Jennings – Bailey - Fleck

McGoldrick – Elliott

Currently third after 5 games. Very much looking forward to getting Wood, Edj, McSheff and Baker back!!

Classic mode. It's the same just a lot quicker.

Takes out personal training, team talks and gives the option to set a match plan and then do instant result, can still do matches tho . Cuts out press conferences just the odd newspaper question. Cuts out all the annoying stoppages to read pointless emails.

You can do a season in 10 hours.

Typically my boys bottled it and lost play off final. 5 points clear of Christmas choked and came 6th. Wood has gone to Celtic and released all the out of contract players bar McSheff, Moussa. Rebuilding begins.
