A change is on the cards , as Wolfie can give us , not just a bit more pace with defending , but unlike Thomas , he doesn’t give the ball away with stupid passes .
A clean sheet would be great & a springboard for Lampards next unbeaten group of 10 games

Too early to bring Woolfenden in as a starter IMHO. Keep the same lineup and bring him on at about 70 minutes for either Thomas or Kitching for whoever isn't playing the better out of the two. If he shows his worth in his 1st time on the pitch there's then a good reason for him to start the next game.

I will be very surprised if Woolfenden comes straight into the team. I would imagine (and hope) that Saka will come in for BTA. Left back is the big unknown. I haven't seen any reports on Dasilva's injury, so I guess he might yet be available. If he isn't fit I'm not sure if Lampard will go for Bidwell, Brau or even KKH. I presume its unlikely to be KKH, but feels like its a toss up between the other two.

A win. For the love of god City, please a win. And if we can turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win in injury time, all the better.

Yes, but not with current circumstances. An injury to Grimes would probably be the driver for that to happen.

Certainly not this weekend when we should have our strongest XI available.

Looks like a Robins type team selection before he was sacked

Well it could be reality due to our performance in the transfer window!

I don't get this desire to change the team so much.

We might have conceded a few silly goals (all set plays), but we have scored double (or more) goals than everyone else other than about two teams. This idea of going 5 at the back, or swapping a ton of players makes little sense to me.

Keep it roughly the same, perhaps change one or two defensive personnel, and spend the remaining training days doing drills until they can't stand up any longer.

A lot of our goals conceded are from midfielders/attacking players not picking up from set pieces, the whole way we defend them needs looking at, swear Our keepers are told to stay on their line, at least woolfenden should help a bit more in there all 6ft 4 of him

I still don't get the need to pack the box with everyone, it causes misunderstanding between players. I've always been one for leaving one or two players up on the half way line (especially small speedy players) which would equate to the attacking team having to leave two or three men back to cover them, thus leaving more space in the box to track players better

If we could stop giving away stupid free kicks in dangerous places that would be a start

Think Tats will help out defensively which we’ll need versus Norwich. BTA also a good option off the bench.

Woolf above Thomas, personal opinion but think Kitching has done better so far as deserves to keep his spot.

Brau only starts depending on how fit Dasilva is.

Totally agree …. MVE, JDS and Tats give you very little when defending set pieces …. Putting them higher up would force the opposition to commit less players into our box

I’d be surprised if Thomas is dropped.

Sakamoto back in if he’s fit, should give us more control of the game. Decent win and Oxford is forgotten.

Yep, me too. 5 or 6 goals per game is pretty much acceptable. Would prefer 7 again though.

Unless JDS is injured, I suspect it may be the same team.

I do think Woolfenden comes in for this one and we will look a lot tighter at the back. Would be happy with a point, but do think we can get all 3.

Very glad it was Josh Sargent rather than Hadji Wright who had to go on international break. Sargent played on Saturday (2-0 loss to South Korea) and was an unused sub against Japan (2-0 win for USA). He will be travelling back today so will only get a light session or 2 before our match.

Whilst Sargent has proven himself in the Championship he hasn't convinced for the national team. Hopefully a nice motivator for Haji to put in one of his unplayable performances on Saturday!
