I’m not justifying anything.

I’ll put it a different way. Words can sometimes hurt people. They shouldn’t but some people are more thin skinned than others and tend to react.

So if you wanted to wind up a racist Scouser, wouldn’t that slur upset him more? The chant “I’d rather be a Londoner than a Scouse” just wouldn’t work on these racists. The words are designed to hurt people. Surely if you were a Scouser and not a racist, then the chant wouldn’t hurt you in the slightest?

So you wind up a racist by chucking deeply racist slurs at them?

Incredible.

And even the post you originally reacted to was clearly aimed at Millwall's 'we're the naughty kid, no-one likes us, we don't care' image rather than an insinuation you're all racist.

What did the actual taking of the knee achieve in the end, because it did eventually stop? If it mattered so much to so many people (and players) why is it still not in use in football today? In the link I posted, even John Barnes said at the time that the gesture was pointless. Racism still continues around the world, so all it did was highlight the death of a black man in the US and then went worldwide.

Why did it take this one killing of George Floyd to stir up this anger, when thousands of ethnic minorities have been indiscriminately killed by racist police in the US, ever since it was legal (or illegal) to have a gun? Why didn’t Americans rise up beforehand and defend those dead minorities every time someone was unlawfully killed because of the colour of their skin?

I’m not trying to prove I’m right by saying what I said about the misdemeanours of the BLM party. It’s all there, and has been well documented. If you choose not to believe it, that is your right, but it seems to me that stealing money for personal gain and not giving it to the people you represent, is wrong. And yes, there has always been politics in sport, but it’s usually been at board level of institutions like FIFA, the EUFA or the IOC - not out in front on a football pitch or athletic arena.

I used the analogy of what the BBC (a supposedly impartial organisation) did to Trump in relation to what they did to us in the Panorama documentary - changing stuff to make someone look bad. It’s irrelevant whether you like/dislike Trump and what he stands for, it’s the principle of altering the facts to suit someone else’s (the BBC) editorial needs which is wrong.

Looking at the amount of blue dots this could be heading for the lowest attendance of the season. Hopefully it will pick up today. Tickets are dirt cheap for this one.

Just for context however, it will still be circa 26k+ - which is mental where we have come from, midweek January against less glamorous side, not a bad place to be.

I'd be happy if Frank doesn't let JDS, MVE get wildly forward as much. Them getting so stranded out of position is killing us defensively.
It's not like we have pace in central midfield or central defence to really cover is it? In fact the lack of pace of Torp, Grimes, Eccles, Kitchin, Lati is a weakness already without putting it out there to be easily exploited.

Looking at the next six fixtures this one and Middlesborough are the most difficult. Just dont lose either is the priority so they dont gain on us and anything else is a bonus

Agree with this. The league have worked out that waiting for our attacks to break down and catching MVE/JDS out of position, we are vulnerable. Appreciate thats the nature of our wide play (overlapping and supporting full backs) but maybe a tweak is needed in this respect. Not having MVE take long throws on the left side of the pitch, would be a start.

It'll be much more than that, wasn't saying it was shit. It'll be 28K plus whatever Millwall bring I'd have thought.

BLM wasn't a party it was an anti racist movement formed as a last straw after yet another black man had been murdered by police.
It spurred a surge of global anti racist activity including taking the knee, which was clearly explained as an expression of anti racism by players and clubs in the spirit of Kick It Out.

If you think that was booed because of Millwall fans desire to 'keep politics out of football' whilst the far right were all over it I feel a bit sorry for you being so utterly naive.

it’s pretty random how we are supposed to forget the first half happened.

We were dominated. Lati was awful along with the rest of the back for. He doesn’t have the pace or presence to be a centre half unless needed as an emergency.

The back four were exposed by Leicester's tactical dominance in midfield.

It is always a bit easy and dumb just to blame defenders when your whole midfield isn't working.

I don't think Lati has it in him to do back to back good performances in such a short time. He often delivers one, raises expectations and then bombs. I look forward to being surprised

I think Millwall pose more of an aerial threat, which will be a more likely reason for a switch. That's why I think we will start with Wolf and Simms in the team.

And that’s precisely the point of my argument. The black player celebrating his goal by taking the knee could have inflamed the situation and caused trouble. Another reason why sport and politics should be kept separate - there are too many people who get wound up by sport and politics separately - put them together and it can become a powder keg waiting to explode.

Thankfully our fans had the sense to just boo him again.

This argument regarding Millwall a super friendly club is someone against the reality of history.

Numerous books have been dedicated to the dockers of Millwall and the history of violence. Many violent incidents are noted from the 60's onwards and ground closures as punishment. One books sub title is "140 years of heart, fury and resistance"

The documentary is widely credited for exposing football hooliganism. The people in it were real and they were really unpleasant. The Millwall chairman was probably stupid to allow the access but the evidence is damning.

There is massive financial discrepancy in the money raised by Captain Tom. Doesn't mean what he was trying to do wasn't a worthy cause or we should boo him does it?

As for making Trump look bad, it's not like they completely made it up. He said those words. Trump totally makes stuff up numerous times a day - why not pick up on that? We had quite a debate on here about it and for most the consensus was "it was stupid, they shouldn't have done it, they should be reprimanded, but Trump was inciting violence and there was no need to edit it in such a way that made it look even more blatant." They didn't make Trump look bad, Trump made himself look bad by telling people to fight like hell.

Every season we hear Millwall fans complaining that their reputation isn't justified or complaining about a large police presence at their games. Yet we regularly also hear about trouble involving Millwall.

Just a thought but maybe the best way to get rid of the reputation is to stop causing trouble?

Can only speak from experience and say I have never had issues at Millwall and have only ever enjoyed our trips there - Mostly cause London away days are the best and it has been a fairly happy hunting ground for us in recent years

You can tell it would be ferocious when they get themselves motivated though for either a big game or a local derby and it is a place you would not wanna be

I really like Millwall as a club...they are a well run proper community club with shit loads of history. But bless them, they do seem to attract the idiots. Give me Millwall over most other London clubs any day of the week.
