I see BTA get a lot of stick and although I do think he’s been poor recently I had a quick look at his season. He’s started 9 games this season with 3 in the cup, where he scored 2 and one being against premier league opponents. 6 started in the league with 1 goal and 1 assist. I remember in 1 of the starts against boro away his pressing helped us get the win as he was the one who was challenged to get the player sent off (which people have raved about norm doing). He also was really unlucky that game not to score with his pressing up top. His other appearances have all come off the bench and a lot at right wing. He was a lot of money but should he be given another chance as a striker rather than simms at the minute? Not saying it’s going to work at all but could it be worth a try?

It is ridiculous for manU type fans talking about players not being worth the money. We have not been in the position to even have that criticism for so long that it makes me cringe to hear it. Yes we have areas that need improving, but having valued players we can bring in that add something different and that we dont have to DEPEND on every game is the depth we've had missing for years. BTA is maybe not first choice now, but there are games be will make a difference, and how nice is it to have that option? Keep those beds dry and lets see what happens January

He's a similar player to Bassette with his work rate and overall game but for some reason he isn't trusted to play in the role he scored goals in last season

Actually carries physical presence unlike Offside Bassette. Also laughable is the idea that Bassette’s first touch is any better.

If BTA or Simms had dropped the performance Bassette did yesterday they'd have been flogged, I like Bassette and he is only 19 but he would benefot from a spell away from the side imo

Tbh, the game was a dire turgid watch but I don't think we were shit by any stretch of the imagination - This ain't a great side at all and with our two players who offer us any sort of spark out injured the game went exactly how I thought it would (Dunno why I never backed a 0-0, as it was my bday and I brought a few mates with me and we always draw 0-0 or get beat on or around my birthday ever year)

What you see is what you get with Millwall and they are the same every year, I personally would hate to watch it but they were good value for a point, Tanganga is a real coup at this level - 3 mins added time at the end of a second half just about sums the game up

I know they probs ain't good enough, but against tired legs I don't see why you don't bring a Tavares or Raphael on in that situation, a little bit of pace could have won us that game on it's own

I was thinking this too. Saka wasn't offering much so it seemed worth a punt to chuck one of them on.

After BTA came on though all the subs went back to the bench and never came back out to warm up again so I guess Lampard had already decided that was it, no more subs.

I was surprised he didn't bring one of the wide players on as sub ,maybe FL decided that a point was enough.

I’m reading this thread and you are the only person mentioning Robins and the games against Swansea and Derby. It’s quite a strange read. People are just talking about the game they watched and saying what they thought.

Certain posters tones in match threads have completely changed since Doug did the unspeakable, whether they mention Robins by name or not their opinions are all about the sacking of him. It's pretty obvious and getting really boring actually.

Right, I think O’Hare post-injury is a shadow of himself. However, as good as it is that Rudoni is outperforming him in the G+A stakes, he doesn’t replicate large parts of what O’Hare brought to the team. We need to find that drive from somewhere both in attack and defence.

It's fucking weird.
Same as when people get the hump because people mention the 'elite level coach'.

But it was King who fucking first brought it up!

Personally I'm fine with the way things are going, happy to give Lampard time but people were surprised when I said I was OK with mid table under Robins, but I just think it's a very tough, very volatile league with a lot of teams of a similar ilk in and one where fine margins make all the difference for all but a few.

Don't be so naive. It's easy to see through the agenda of certain posters and don't kid yourself, it's all about robins bitterness.

He's really not.

You would know if you didn't just decide from BBC stats.

It's because he dances around and acts like a road man and is mates with Tom Grennan.

Not really.

It's fucking weird and it's the same ones every time. Go and support his new club if it still hurts that much.

To the point of making things up to suit.

Have I said that anywhere? If you go back through my post history you will see lots of take a draw and draw isn't end of world posts under robins

Even under robins I maintained squad wasn't bad and no chance of relegation etc so it's pretty obvious I am one poster who has remained consistent in his views with even manager change

Saw a bit of the Sheffield game yesterday. He tried one dive. Gave two free kicks away and moaned a lot to the ref. Didn’t see him do a lot else.

Can only speak for me, but in my view we should be aiming for top ten minimum (which I think we’ll do), we are in zero danger of relegation, Lampard needs at least two windows. The Plymouth match was faultless, but yesterday was poor. It’s literally only you and a few others obsessing, frothing, constantly bringing Robins up & getting all butt hurt if people don’t make out yesterday was somehow impressive. It’s very strange.

But he was brilliant for us.
And that's what matters. Unless we've got sell on clauses what a player does after he leaves isn't really relevant.

I like Rudoni but anyone who thinks hes at the same level as O'Hare is deluding themselves.

Rudoni brings more physicality than o hare did and he can hold his own creative wise.

He hasn't reached the heights o hare did yet for us but I am think he could be better on the long run perhaps as so young

There is certainly some eye raising positivity from some posters who once held very different standards and some mind bending revisionism of what has passed.

Best just to ignore it though. They might seem like they have been replaced by Dougbots now but I reckon by march we'll have all reverted back to our usual roles.

Was he brilliant or was it because he put a wig on and danced in lockdown?

I don't doubt he had some great games and performances but all this shite about best player in his position in the league is madness.

I think he was brilliant for us overall and has been missed though not as much as Hamer has.
But he's gone, we move on but we definitely need someone who, as Shmmeee says, can take the ball on the turn and drive at the opposition.

It's quite glaringly obvious so I'd imagine there's someone lined up, if not for January then the summer.

Perfect spot for a loan player. Must be loads of talented number 10s in prem u23 teams.

Would be an odd change of tact from King given we aren't going down or making playoffs, it's just dead money. Caveats over loans with view to perm or if we're offloading elsewhere to offset the wages of course.

But we did try to loan players in summer. One was lined up and done then player got injured, another late on deadline day fell through.

Yeah but we were targeting playoffs then. It's highly unlikely we'll reach them now so the money would essentially be wasted.

Unlikely but still possible.

And finishing as high as we can is important, we are more likely to retain and attract players and fans with a top 10 finish rather than a 15th place damp squib.

I agree, try and finish as high as possible even if we can't make the play offs, (which personally I can't see happening).

Young Liverpool lad lined up got injured. Think he's only just returned to fitness.

DK who was late on, but we did try and things changed.
