Spare a thought for the Millwall fans trying to get back to London today, the trains are totally fucked because of a mini-landslide near Rugby. Top day out for them.

They will all fit on one rail replacement bus. Should drop them off to Kent

Really? Norwich kicked lumps out of him and got away with it. Millwall stuck a couple of nasty sly ones on him in the first half and got away with it too.
Credit to him for a good second half today, he did well but he's entitled to more protection from refs than he's had recently.

On the subject of nonsense, this one made me chuckle when you saw Simms coming on.

He's definitely getting the rough stuff and needs more protection, but he's still been playing very well, but opposition defenders are doubling up on him and not commiting themselves so easily.

ps, my earlier comment was sarcasm regarding Simms goal record. (Which remains shit)

Millwall came with a game plan to press us high and it was well executed, they rode their luck with the Wright chance. They did well to get men behind the ball but when they tired we started to control the game after the changes. In the end it was a great three points.

Much better after the changes. Thomas improved us tenfold. Torp probably the pick

You can go for likes as much as you like. You are the one being overly positive about a midfield performance that was average. Stop judging him as a CB in midfield and instead judge him on the role.

So we don't need a player who breaks up play well?

A good team covers all bases well. If your midfield is only good at going forward you will struggle. We're not at full strength. Nowhere near. And trying to rest players makes it even harder.

Sometimes I preferred it when we were shite. At least we could see the obvious then.

Where did I say we didn't need it? This is classic of you looking for an argument.

I gave him the credit he deserved, he broke up play well. But I simply said he wasn't excellent. Because it wasn't an excellent midfield performance. Read my original post. I said I don't mind it in an emergency, but it shouldn't be the go to which it is becoming now.

Again a classic line of yours. I don't need to show everyone anything My whole post was saying he wasn't excellent. I gave credit for what was good and then said why it wasn't excellent. It's really not hard to comprehend.

Great to turn that around and get the win. Many seasons gone by we would have lost that.
We have a habit of starting slowly and letting the opposition have some decent chances. We have got away with that quite a few times, today we nearly paid for it.
Credit to Wright for keeping going after a miss and for having the bottle to step up for the pen. Team spirit helps a lot in that.

The Latibeaudaire change wasn't cause Eccles was poor . It enabled Torp to push higher up the pitch .
The role he did today is made for him, he can break up play and play it simple . That doesn't make him a better or more complete midfielder than Eccles is in any way

It also says a lot about the regard Robins must have for Latibeaudaire that he pushed him there when Kelly was sat on the bench

Hopefully some work will be put in training against one of our obvious weaknesses at the minute which is the fullbacks (especially if Bidwell doesn’t play)

Very deliberate of Milwall to leave Cooper up and win that header vs Van Ewijk for their first goal.

No complaints when they have possession but something needs to be looked for those long balls out wide

We played with a weakened side. He tried to rest players. Second half round pegs in round holes. Worth the gamble and we still won.

Why are we assuming they’re here to stay? It’s a dumb assumption that let’s off whichever idiot made the decision.

It takes roughly ten times as long to search everyone on a one staff per turn style basis. If they want to have this ridiculous theatre for no benefit then they’ll have to up staffing 10 x.

This panned out to be a game you can’t really dissect to death. We kept a winning team thinking we’d roll over Millwall. Credit goes to them for the way they pressed and created opportunities. It was clear that they wouldn’t be able to maintain that kind of intensity and we came back into it around the half hour mark.

The early subs ended up being game changers. Simms’ energy and huge contribution to defending towards the end was noteworthy, along with moving Wright to the left. My personal opinion on Lati is that he looked better in mid than he did at the back. Eccles, I think, may have been withdrawn to save his legs for the condensed fixture schedule coming up.

Celebrate the win and dish out some praise for the standouts.. Torp looks thebollox and thank fuck we have Binks to look to when Kitching isnt playing. Arguing the toss about whether Lati played average/great/poor in midfield after a game like that is so fuckingSBT.

I like Eccles and his development is clear to see, not every game Eccles will be effective and sometimes you need a foil for someone like Torp to get forward and dictate things. Latibeaudiere does just that. It's a mouthwatering prospect to see Torp and Sheaf play together.

The ‘target the small guy with high balls over the top and give the Japanese guy a roughing up’ is a pretty basic tactical approach but surprisingly effective apparently. Robins needs to counter it. I guess all you can do with Saka is get in the refs ear a lot. Every time he’s hit.

Glad Kitching is back soon, should help solidify things.
Palmer needs a huge adrenalin injection to get going. Chalk and cheese if he’s not fully up for it.

Honestly think as much as anything the subs were pre planned. Eccles and Thomas have played more football than anyone and Palmer has played a lot recently for him.

Subs made a huge difference. We looked so much better when Simms came on and Wright moved over to the left (keep him there please).

Millwall played well, we couldn't beat their press and we didn't switch the ball enough. We just kept trying to force it through too many bodies.

Massive 3 points considering we were poor for 65 mins but if we would have taken that early goal, it's a different game.

Simms may not be scoring but he is playing an important role.

3 points, back in the top 6, it's a great Sunday. PUSB

Robins complained about the state of the pitch in his BBC interview. Hopefully they can do some work before the Preston game, it's starting to deteriorate.

No, ignoring what was an abysmal first half performance and a mediocre 2nd half performance against poor opposition is “so fucking SBT”.

We were fortunate to win today and the performance for the most part was not good enough. They could have had 3 in the opening 20 minutes.

JesusH. We can’t play like Brazil every week but we can grind out wins when we don’t play particularly well.

We’ve looked fucking brilliant for long spells, multiple times and lost. We owned today’s game after 25 minutes. Even when we weren’t coping with their press Haji should’ve put us ahead early doors.

Take from it what you will but I’m fucking ecstatic that we ground out a win not playing at 100%. THAT’S the sign of a good team.. and something we lacked for many fuckingyears

Robins will continue to rotate the players, it’s what he does, whether SBT likes it or not. He see himself as having a deep squad, and the more games we win the more it looks like he does. As to Wright, 11 goals and 5 assists so far in all competitions, and I’d like to think he’ll put 3 past Maidstone in the first half, for those targeting 22 he’ll get there. Job done vs. Milwall, we want a win at Plymouth (15th) away and then thrash Stoke (20th) at home before taking on PNE. These 5 February games need to be won because in April and May we still have the other 4 teams above us; we will be dropping points in the run in.
