I mean he got a 67% pass completion if you want to pull at that thread but I’m not sure why you would. As I said everyone played their part.

definitely a few times he was near the corner. I fully could not give a f*ck after that, though! Great win.

My eyes are dry mate. Feel like I've been through the mill, but self-preservation and all that.

An emotional night for sure, but like I say we write off results against you to lessen the impact which helps. That's why a Hoodoo is to be respected, it would kill you otherwise

Besides we're looking forward to turning over a fair few sides where there's nothing mystical involved. Ipswich at their place especially hopefully.

We can stop fretting about losing both games to Ipswich now having beaten Boro in both matches. Boro also beat Ipswich at home and hopefully beat them away too.

Well that was more than a tad lucky. They were much the better side except for the first 20 minutes. We have forgotten how to play possession football. Long ball long ball long ball.

On the plus side Wright back to form and so was Rudoni. The much maligned Lati looked tighter on his man than Kitching. Thomas also had a good game, why on earth was he left out against Oxford

Sakamoto is so frustrating. Ghastly against oxford, so tricky tonight

....and Frank the Tank does look the sort of player we needed

Bit harsh to say we were only better side for 20 mins, however I did think Boro looked good. More confident on the ball than us. Not sure what that will say for the rest of the season.

They were much the better side in an alternative dimension where three points are awarded to the team with the best possession stats…

I said before the Oxford game that we needed 4 points minimum from the Oxford and Boro games. In typical Cov fashion, we draw the 'easy' game and win the 'hard' game. If we didn't pick up a win tonight, I couldn't see us finishing in the top 2, even though there's plenty of games left.

Tonight's win means its in our hands and we have a blueprint of how we should play for the rest of the season. Onyeka in the middle was a beast and is everything that we've been missing. All the players were up for it and we got a deserved win. The question stands, where were these performances over the last 2 months?

Tactically, Boro got it all wrong in the first half and went too gung ho at 1-0. They could have got back in the game through patient build up play but chased the game too much and left their defence exposed. 2-0 left them a mountain to climb. Making it 3-1 right after they pulled one back knocked the stuffing out of them.

For me, this result means nothing if we don't follow it up with a win at Albion! We cannot go back to the team we have been since December. Tonight's performance has to be the benchmark!

Congratulations Cov.

You figured out a way to overcome us; long accurate balls take the midfield out of the equation and we're a little short of big lads, so you used physicality well.

Throw in the Hoodoo magic as well and I'm not overly surprised. My both teams to score prediction was right at least

I did say a while back we'd kick-start your season again (and especially Wright's!), most of us write off our games against you in advance as it's the hope that will kill you with a jinx. Your performance tonight was executed to perfection and we kind of knew you'd perform a lot better than the rest of your games against us as you always do.

It does mean you should have no fear of the rest of the sides in this league now and I've always said you should get promoted this year. The amount of goals you've scored this year is testament to that.

As for us, we're of course aiming for 13 wins out of 14 (Brizzle will shaft us as usual tooand it's still doable so with any luck we'll be joining you next season.
(It would mean an automatic 6 point head start for you in the Prem so I can't see you having many complaints)

Well done.

When we play you in the Premier League next season that's at least six points to us.

An amazing night at the CBS

The team worked so hard. Played with intensity from start to finish

Amazing finish from wright for the second goal

I personally thought Middlesbrough looked a quality outfit. Klopp like off the ball and pep like on it. Everytime we won ball back it seemed like matte rofntime till they win it back. That said they didn't make many clear cut chances

I do think they will win slot of games till end of season though so we need to take this performance and mentality into our remaining games. 14 games left. 8-9 wins might do it but we may need double figures depending on how our rivals

But for tonight just enjoy the amazing win. Tonight was a win for the real fans

Great night. PUSB
