Really good game of football with plenty of needle.

I feel like we've done the right thing by getting into their heads, they're trying to play our players instead of their game. Need to do it again second half.

I’m sure it’s intentional.

Good first half.

We've looked energetic, willing to close them down and get stuck in. If we'd shown half of that fight for last two months we wouldn't be as nervy as we are about our league position.

Very impressed with Frank, just a bit worried about his yellow card. Don't want to bring him off but you could see him getting a red. Wright and Rudoni looking more like last season's players.

Can see them scoring though, so we really could do with getting a second as quickly as possible.

Always worry about half time after we've done well first half as the other team seem to come out with added spirit and a different gameplan, which Hellberg is getting a reputation for.

Fight we’ve shown means the next 14 or whatever we’re at now will be better. Tonight is just one game.

A few times he's just got his toe on a loose ball and it's take the sting out of attacks. Such a basic thing but we've been missing it.

I think the lesson here is to play in their half, and press, press, press. If we slow it down and start knocking it around at the back they'll get some momentum and probably punish us. Great first half, just keep it going!

Really good half against a very good side.

Strength of depth on the bench is going to play a big part as well.

A really good and passionate performance so far. If we'd played like this for the past 12 games we would still have a ten point lead.

Feels a lot more balanced in midfield with The Tank alongside Grimes. Seems to give us more energy and urgency.

Sakamoto absolutely superb that half as well, in the build up to the goal and his general workrate.

Full backs still worry me with how high up they are and that's always going to lead to chances against us.

Surely they'll make a tweak at half time, hope we're switched on and don't put in one of those games where we only manage one half.

What a dirty barsteward that morison morisy whatever his name is. The slow motion shows he's watching Rudi come in and deliberately head butts him. We really do need to ask questions if the league do nothing its so blatant and pre meditated.

Great stuff, City and fully deserving of the lead.

Sakamoto has been on fire. Fabulous first 45 from him.

Onyeka has made a real difference, just as we hoped and our passion and desire has been second to none.

We will surely tire a little in the 2nd half, so substitutions at the right time will be key.

No-one has played badly at all.

Ok
Well done City.
We have worked very very hard in that half. Can we keep it up!?
Sakamoto's work rate compared to that of Esse is a different level.

They are very very good at playing out of tight spaces to move up the pitch.

Good first half. Boro look dangerous in last 3rd. We might need to score another two to win this.

This is like watching the team from two months ago. We look absolutely psyched for this. I have moaned about other teams wanting it more than us recently, but the level of aggression today is filthy. Our best half of football for some time.

Licking my lips like Jabba the Hut at our bench and what we can throw at them second half.

Sakamoto back to his best in that half, we need him to work hard second half as Middlesbrough will try and dominate possession, and we cant afford for him to not be involved.
