Luton didn't manage their game against us very well. They should have shut the door when 2 up. That was our most accomplished game so far. I know we were 2 nil down but that was completely incomprehensable. Everyone still fely we could get back in the game, at no time did it feel like we were broken. And so it proved, with no surprise when we got the winner.
If we had turned up like that in previous games we would be sitting up alongside Leeds and Sunderland.

Agree with this completely. The performance said more than the 3 points. We actually looked like “us” for the first time.

Tough run of games coming, I just want to see that same level of performance consistently now, results will sometimes go for us, sometimes not but that performance has to be the benchmark now

The performance was 100x better than both the oxford and blackburn games.
They looked to be and ultimately were paper over cracks wins.
This one looked and felt different. Time will tell but if we play like that we’ll win way more than we lose.

Spot on.
Best performance of the season.
Sheaf back to his very best
The return to form of Simms and MVE

We had the second highest xg of any side in the Championship today , if we had come away with anything less than a draw today it would have been a travesty

The back 5 that finished today must surely start the next game.

Rudoni might be a bit inexperienced there, but with Binks inside, it feels like a no brainer to me.

Kitching is not the answer as wing back.

Weirdly Rudoni seemed to enjoy playing in that position too

Interesting seeing how many Luton fans want Edwards sacked on the back of this.

I think he's done an incredible job for them . Football these days is too knee jerk , they won't go down or be anywhere near to it.
They would be very silly to sack him

I was amazed how poor Luton looked considering how much of their prem team they’ve retained

they’ve only lost Barkley, Ogbene and Townsend

We didn't let them play for the majority of the game, midweek against Sunderland they looked a lot better

I hope they sack him and disappear back where they belong in the lower leagues.

70% possession, 29 attempts on goal (10 on target), the stats don’t lie for a change

Massive in every sense of the word, for the manager, the players and the season as a whole - the confidence that will instill will be vital

Proud of the atmosphere yesterday, half expected it to go a bit toxic and for the players to crumble a bit but everyone was united as one and that carried us through

Let that be the springboard to the season - PUSB

Luton looked a shadow of the side that usually have our cards marked, thought they were dreadful even at 2-0 up

Interesting to see how long they give Edwards, if MR was/is under pressure then what is he - coming down from the prem and being in the Bottom 3 in Nov is poor

They played very well on Wednesday apparently.

I think we made them look bad as much as anything else.

We were excellent.

Even though he scored - I thought we dealt with Adebayo really well. We struggled against him massively usually

I think the fact that so many of them played and lost most weeks last season is the problem to be honest.

Today gives me the same vibe as the day Kastaneer slid into history and we grabbed a draw with Pompey against the odds. These are the games that bond team-mates together. And in the words of Yazz, the only way is up.

Yazzoo*. Well, the first syllable is the same, so I’d get it right on Blockbusters.

Nail on head. We’ve lacked a bit of cohesion going forward but have generally looked like scoring. Whereas at the other end we concede far too many goals. Easy goals. That may well be where we need some help in January.

Yeah, I got the feeling a few people wanted to chase Robins out of town with pitchforks.

I was impressed by Rudoni at LWB. I would never have thought of playing him there but, given that he has both defensive and attacking qualities, I can see how it makes sense.

Playing Rudoni at LWB also opens it up, as MR did yesterday, for Torp to play in the advanced midfield role which I think is where he is best deployed.

I would be very tempted to start the next game with the 11 that finished yesterday and using the same formation.

100% agreed. But honestly you don't need hindsight for that torch as it's been evident for years - and the hysterical loud mouthed minority is somehow increasing.

I’m sure it will have been mentioned elsewhere, and without seeing the fouls for the numerous bookings, but I thought the ref was excellent yesterday.
Giving someone a 2nd booking for a shirt pull! Who’d have thought?!
If only the ref vs Preston had done the same. Twat.
