Was great to see finally what we've heard so much about him . His running with the ball reminded me of a young Chris Waddle and he looked to pick a decent pass too .
Also looked good on the left flank too

That will come with more experience.
Thought he looked comfortable on the ball and looked to move it forward , was combative too

Who booed him? I didn't hear that at all. A few individuals sounding off at times, but that was the most I've heard his name sung since he's been here

No, I'm disappointed because he should have scored a hat-trick.

He will if you support him, but slag him off..He hasn't been picked since April.

Another clean sheet is not to be sniffed at either.. as soon as the goals start to fly, we are going to be a team to watch out for

Yeah I think he did okay, particularly second half. I just feel like a confident version of himself buries three of those chances.
He isn't going to be confident..he is 24 and not played in either semi final, bizarre. However, he is out best option at 9, lone striker.. Played well tonight

Yeah he overcooked things a few times but it's just inexperience. His natural ability is clear though, and there's no substitute for that.

Reminded me of Ayari when he was here, a lot of technical ability, smooth on the ball but not at the pace and speed yet. I think he will be a good player for us.

He's clearly not a left sided player either
Saw enough tonight to see he's going to have a future with us

All my silly jokes to one side this is exactly it. People are taken in by his physical appearance. He can't win headers or hold the ball up consistently, it just not his game. Or Wrights, or BTAs. That said, I do think that is exactly the type of player that would thrive in the system we are trying to play. We need someone to bring the wingers into play and then throw themselves on the end of anything we put in the box. Which makes it a little odd for me we haven't done anything in that department over the summer.
Robins spunked 3/4s of the initial Gyokeres fee on those 3, which is a bit of sickener considering it could have been a game changer for the club, I don't see what his recruitment plan was there at all.

He can win headers, won loads tonight..Got in position to score 3 goals. He hasn't played since April. No doubt confidence low, before tonight, because he didn't play one minute, in 2 semi finals, no idea why? People will regret, if we lose him. He is 24 yrs of age and will be and is a good champ striker

Glad we’re in the hat. Positive result and getting the job done being the main objective which we did. Raphael the standout-a real mixed bag for Simms. Glad he got on the scoresheet but those other chances have to go in. Nobody was more disappointed than the man himself.

Has anyone seen the Facebook chat about our fans throwing bottles filled with piss over each other in the corner!?!
Horrendous if true.

In a nutshell. Shit game, ok team choice, great subs, well done Simms, welll done Brau and well done Rodrigues. No injuries, clean sheet and in the second round draw. Roll on Derby.

Think the thing with Simms is he’ll need a consistent run of games and goals! 2 things that he can’t put together right now. Until that happens I feel he’s not gonna change. I want him to do well and finally start making the CF position his but it’s just not happening for him right now! He’s got to be as frustrated as we all are
He is a confidence player and needs consistent support from the fans to reach the levels he was at in 2023/2024 season. I am not sure given he has 2 goals in 2 matches that he can't go on a run now and I hope Lampard puts some faith in him for the next couple of games at least. BTA seems to be more effective off the bench too

I thought Bidwell played well defensively, throwing himself in front of several shots to block them.

Not sure if I’m honest but you have me worried now!

Personally think it was just a rearranged swap like you said. Unless you’ve heard anything to the contrary?

For me and like most I spoke to it was always going to be a straight swap. It made sense to give both a halve with our new found centre back Bidders!

I watched him first half more than usual and he was giving out orders and bossing like Fadderz use to, which was nice to see and hear.

People keep forgetting Robins wasn’t responsible for transfers post King.

The play for the goal was brilliant, that’s what wev‘e been missing, quick and direct, love tats but spends a lot of the game going backwards, now he’s got a bit of competition

What’s your source here? Because I’ve seen people say that about literally every signing at one point.

Not seen the comments in the thread so this may repeat comments already made, but overall the result we needed and through to the next round.

I was impressed with Raphael he’s quick and direct, he commits defenders and wants to get a ball into the box or link with other players, it’s good to have that option on that side of the pitch.

It did feel very much like Saturday’s game at times, lots of possession and attempts on goal, which we should be doing much better with - Simms had some really good chances to score, Haji if he connects with his diving header and Andrews effort was blocked by the last man.

Luton had some good spells, but overall I wasn’t concerned about them.

There are a number of positives from the game last night and the Hull game and I still think the missing piece is a striker who will score 20+ goals season after season (I know I’m not asking for much).

I didn't manage to catch much of the game yesterday but just watched the highlights. The third chance for Simms (where Rudoni puts the low ball in) looks like a foul on Sakamoto in the box?

Looks like you were right yesterday mind you when said it's 442 so he didn't technically play there I guess?
