Could be a tricky selection. On one hand he has injuries and may want to rest players but then we risk putting out a team that would definitely be weak.

Rest key players (Grimes, Rushworth, Kitching, MVE, Sakamoto, Rudoni)

Play those that need the fitness (EMC, Brau, Torp)

Play second string who aren't likely to play otherwise (Simms, Raphael, Allen)

Might as well save everyone the hassle and forfeit then.

Play the subs from Saturday (apart from sicknote of course.)
Obikwu to get a run out from the bench. Andrews and Allan in CMF Bidwell at CH. Raphael to get 90 minutes, with KKH and Brau at WB's
We could even go 2 up front, (Wright and Simms) and actually try to score a goal.
Wouldn't that be nice.

I’m not the one saying we should throw a game. I think it’s dumb and always have and if we’re going to do it we shouldn’t charge people to watch.

What’s needed is our first teamers to learn how to play together and hit the back of the net. Not for Ben Wilson and Australia’s Next Top Model to have a kick about.

And if Rushworth gets injured in a league cup game you'd be the first to whinge.

No I wouldn’t. It’s always been a stupid argument that lead to its full conclusion would mean players don’t train either.

Yeah well you’re a smelly poo poo head.
What is with the six year old arguments from you recently?

Check my posting history. I never think we should field weakened teams for cups. I think it’s pointless.

Squad for me. Personally think it’d be good to blood a couple youngsters on to see where they are at.

Wilson
KKH - Thomas - Perry/Kitching - Brau
Allen
Torp - Andrews
Rapha - Simms - EMC

We have enough in reserve to beat Luton .
Simms ……is this “ not playing “ due to another payment to the toffee’s ?
Unfortunately, we need our strikers being match fit & hungry , so sorry Doug , pay them their monies & let’s get our season started .

Rushworth
KKH-Thomas-Kitching-Brau
Allen-Andrew’s
Torp
Raphael-Simms-Hadji

Think the new defence needs games to gel. With Sheaf and Eccles injured wouldn’t risk Grimes so give Andrew’s a chance with Allen.
Start with Torp but replace with Rudi on the hour.
Want to see Raphael at some point so rest Saka. Still feel Simms is better than Asante. Was disappointed with EMC and we need Hadji up to speed so start with him but replace with Ephron as the game goes on.

Pre season and Hull we haven’t looked on it. Appreciate it’s a cup game but think we need to start building confidence whilst protecting key players and building fitness.

It's not 2000 anymore. It's a squad game it's a long season, and the reality is we don't know our best team yet other than 'on paper'.

How do any players ever break through if you never actually play them.

It's such a weird take on football in this day and age. Squad rotation is key.

I’m always in the camp of full team for cups as I’d like to progress but I think we ought to five minutes to the fringe players or players who missed out Saturday ie KKH, Simms etc

Can see a Luton win. As usual we seem to use the actual season to get going. Luton look on it from what I have seen of them.

Wilson will play I think

KKH and bidwell too

Not sure much we can change at CB. Id like to see wright and Raphael play. For me it's:

Wilson

Bidwell
Kithcing
Thomas
KKH

Sheaf (if not fit then grimes)
Torp
Rudoni

Raphael
Simms
Wright

Strong team still with a bit of rotation too

Two teams who will make wholesale changes , our record in this competition in recent years isn't very good.

Rushworth
KKH Perry Bidwell Brau
Andrews Allen Torp
Raphael Simms EMC

Utilise the squad , give fringe/young players a chance and get minutes into others

Rushworth
KKH Thomas Kitching Brau
Torp Grimes Rudoni
Saka Simms EMC

Wilson, MvE, Bidwell, Allen, BTA, Perry, Rapha, Andrews, Obikwu

I genuinely don't think Wright is fit.

This early on keep as much of the first team in as possible to give them game time together. Bench mix of first team squad and youngsters so you've got options to blood youngsters if it's going well or keep the team strong if it's not. Luton aren't a walkover and we play a weakened team they will beat us.
