Now onto millwall who are 4th and won 2 0 away to watford today so no given on Tuesday night!!

They are on a good run of three wins and two draws in their last five matches.

I think it will be a tough game although, if we play as we did in the second half today, we should win.

The feet are so quick and unlike Sakamoto he actually has the power to burst away from someone afterwards.

I think having the two of them though is a big positive. Bringing either one on against tired legs is going to be a massive asset.

That's the beauty of a strong squad.

I would disagree in terms of other than the goal saka won fouls etc but esse looked a more attacking thread. But he had more of the game to do that and we were chasing a goal at that time

Whoever plays in happy and I can see Yang getting on pitch Vs Millwall too so looking forward to that

He did. But we were firmly on the front foot by then.

Well, taken extremely literally that is true, as his shot led to the goal.

Esse was unlucky not to score himself, though, and he looks like he could be an extremely good addition when we get him match sharp.

He looked talented but rusty today.

Delighted, it goes without saying to have won that game.
But how the hell did we?!
Even Lampard looked a bit sheepish at the most match celebration gathering

You'd be happy if that was given against us then i take it.

Its debatable whether someone's head knocking into your leg is enough to send someone legitimately to the floor anyway (lets not forget EMC threw himself to the floor at least once on the wing in the 2nd half). It was just a 50/50

Ayew threw himself onto the floor so much they had to take him off because he was exhausted

You can just see the way he takes the ball in and he's rotated and gone, it's going to take a bit of adjustment from others who aren't on the same wavelength.

Fatawu made some odd decisions at times but I have to say it was clear to me that him and James are 2 of the standout players I've seen against us this season. If they lose them they are in big trouble.

Agree, although second half in particular their whole team seemed to play all as individuals.

Thought their left back was really poor too, made the wrong decision nearly every time he got the ball

I'll never forget that cheeky goal that Dion Dublin scored when momentum carried him off behind the goal line. He carried on running back onto the pitch, behind Given and nicked the ball from his feet to tap the ball home! Despite protests, the ref gave it because he pointed out that Dion had not technically left the pitch, as momentum took him off. Because he turned and came straight back on, he was deemed to still be in play!

Three points was the requirement and that’s what we got.

When we went 1-0 down, I did wonder if it’s the turning point for the season, lots of mental strength needed to be calm and focused on getting back in the game and going on to win it.

We came through that and got a deserved win, onwards now, time to build on it.

Great to meet @rob9872 as well

The first bit of skill where he megged their player was mental, the speed of his feet ...wow

I think defensively our full backs aren’t great and we rely on players to cover back. I know every one loves Jay Dasilva but even Oggy admitted he’s got zero pace and needs EMC to back track and is a very easy target. MVE gets away with it with pace but he’s erratic - lack of height as well is an issue with Lati as well

Its easy to look good when your fresh and the team are on the front foot against a tiring defence.

Let's be honest here, Sakamoto hasn't performed well for quite a few weeks, that's why he was dropped today. Hopefully he has had a rest and found some form now theres genuine competition available.

Likewise mate and thank you.

Tbh I've met a number of posters over the years for tickets, scarves shirts and stickers. Every single one to a man has been sound IRL despite how it sometimes seems with bickering on here.

Not going to lie, I well and truly cacked it when Rushworth did that.

Although, I'm still trying to figure out how he actually caught that strike from Fatawu!

Big result. Great to have that strong bench (offensively) with Saka and Haji involved with the 2nd goal.
Thought Lati had a good game. Kitching struggled. Torp was quiet and Grimes struggled especially first half. Rudoni, again encouraging. Should have done better with that shot first half.
EMC , loads of effort and a constant menace. His end product was lacking today though. Simms did well, as did Esse but he needs to work harder.
Eccles did well after coming on.
I thought we needed a CM before today, which we probably still do, but a CB may be a higher priority. Not sure Frank’s been impressed with Woolf so far, and with Kitching hitting some bad form, perhaps we need someone in. It would need someone who is match fit and can slot straight in. Wouldn’t surprise me if we’re in for Charlie Hughes again.

I just don’t see why he was wrestling him off the ball. In reality it was a foul for them IMO but I hate this off the ball wrestling crap and it seems it’s allowed.

Their man was just trying to get past and close the keeper though, there was no intent to hurt Kitch
