Any news from the Ipswich camp as to whether they are rotating or going full strength?

have you got the figures after that? Below 10,000 gates for Wimbledon etc in 80s was not uncommon

Don't think they're as good as Leeds even at full strength. Can't see anymore than a win

Just hope Frank puts out a strong side! 30k crowd and a weaker squad is not a good mix and a bit of excitement goes down a treat “especially a good cup win”

Not sure about the dugout but definitely not block 5 I guess for segregation. Away end also holds 6K and they were given 4.8K so another 1.2K segregation.

IMO the biggest factor was the introduction of the all-seater arrangement in 1981. The large standing areas on the Spion Kop were replaced by a much smaller bunch of plastic seats completely exposed to the elements, and not surprisingly it wasn't popular.

The change also pretty much coincided with Dave Sexton becoming manager, and although he was a respected coach his style was pretty dull compared to the entertaining approach of Gordon Milne.

Ipswich not playing since the 1st is a pretty big for them, on the flip side we're gonna be tired and leggy having just played against a very high intensity team. My morning pessimism is kicking in..

I don't think the issue is are we good enough or are we ready for the playoffs. The issue is we're miles off being ready for the Premier League as is everyone else in the Championship baring Leeds. I imagine Burnley & Sheff Utd will go up with Leeds and both will come straight back down. The gulf is just massive.

Yeah but being a yo yo club is OK even though it will be a tough year after promotion.

I suspect Doug's hunt for investors will succeed if we can achieve promotion.

Just a reflection of the times. Carried on into the 90s.

There is only 1 single club in the premier league era that has never had a sub 30k crowd for a PL game, and that’s Newcastle.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc all had below 30k for at least 1 PL game.

I'd take being a yo-yo club over finishing 9th-16th every year in the prem 10000%

All seater… plus a bigger factor was the recession and interest rates of 16+% for home buyers. The Coventry/Warks area was hit very hard with job losses and lowing wages for those who worked.

I’d rather us be a top six championship side for a while. It will take a restructure of the Premiership league(s.

The big plus factor would be seeing top footballers playing every home game.

Might have kept some back for POTG? Don’t think they’ve released the blocks they sometimes do yet have they? Or hoping they can bump people into Legends Lounge.

No I mean heading up with a view to buying from t/o. Just had a mate text saying he might head up a get a ticket, but would be a wasted journey. You snooze you lose I suppose, just surprised there has been no announcement. Sure there will be soon though.

Edit, they have just released some in corporate behind dugouts
