I thought you could only have 5 loans in the squad? (Murphy, Kent, Armstrong, Cole and new defender)?

Do people actually want Bigi back?

Could just be an old story coming up again. Can't see why we would want him at the moment.

5 in a match day squad, 8 (season long loans) over a season (or at the same time if you wish with 3 missing out obviously).

Id have him back, but not sure he would be able to dislodge Fleck or Vince from their positions.

We definitely need a central midfielder.

A defender is priority but a CM is also a must.

I see Dominic Samuel has joined gillingham also

Doubt bigi would come to us and is he even that good and proven?

I'd have him as back up ahead of Thomas, he isn't getting ahead of Fleck or Vincelot though. I'm guessing he will be let go by Newcastle very soon so every possibility we could pick him up on a free transfer in January.

Be nice to have him but if we are to sustain a top 6 push a defender must be a priority.

At the back we are a shambles at the minute.

We do need a Centre Back before getting in any other position. But what's happened to Moussa these days ?

Back in the fold at Charlton after being out for a year injured.

Can't see him coming here, he won't get in ahead of fleck or Vincelot so will be coming on loan to play the odd 10 minutes here and there. At 22 he needs to be playing games now.

I think it's a case that we have Armstrong and bigi used to play for us so 2+2 = bigi loan deal.

Thought I'd heard nothing for a long time. Now he is one player I'd love to see back in a Sky Blue shirt !

tbf I can't see Newcastle being interested in his development now, it seems they've pretty much written him off. Will probably be down to the players choice if we are interested, like I said wouldn't be surprised if he had his contract terminated by Newcastle in January

I'm not so sure, he's reportedly on c£20k pw and is contracted until July 2017, so he's due another £1.6-1.7m in wages.

All the more reason why Newcastle will be keen to get rid permanently as soon as possible.

Sounds like want to get rid permanently rather than loan, I'd take a punt on him for free

Which then goes back to Newcastle will want him to go out and play games, to put him in the shop window.

Personally I'd be inclined to steer clear, he hasn't played enough football in the last 2 years, the weird illness, etc. Some are looking back with rose tinted specs at his promise 4 seasons ago. For many question marks and not worth the risk in wages.

No wonder he left that is a fantastic deal.

Fair point there didn't realise that is what you were getting at. Still don't agree though

I personally don't think they have a chance of getting a fee for him so putting him in the shop window is a moot point, he's played 1 game over the last 2 and a half years. No championship club will take him on imo and 90% of league 1 or 2 clubs can't afford a transfer fee anyway. If I was Newcastle, I'd be just happy to get him off the wage bill to whoever wanted to take him on.

Which is why they'd want him to go and get some games, to enable him to get some game time, find some form and show he hasn't got any fitness/illness issues to entice league one/two clubs to offer him a contract. If I was bigi I would want a contract offer before agreeing a pay off from Newcastle.

He's only c£20k pw, for most league one/two clubs £1.5-2k pw is still a lot of money so they're unlikely to be offering contracts to him if they're unsure of fitness and form.

If he came here on loan though Mowbray could judge whether he would be worth a contract though from watching him train everyday and minutes he did get on the pitch.

I maintain Newcastle don't care if Bigi plays or not, they will get rid of him to any interested party. So it will be up to the player, either he would rejoin us and try find his way back into football, sit on his contract for another 2 years at Newcastle and probably drop out of football when it expires, or wait for a better offer from another club (Better as in either more opportunity for first team football or financially better)

All assumes we are interested, Mowbray may not even have interest in him.

It seems to me that Mowbray and McClaren get along well. I won't be surprised if he returns.

It would be a step backwards, IMO. NLHWC would also reappear and make claims he will one day be worth £30m.

Cannot see him making start XI in our current 4-2-3-1 formation. Fleck & Vincelot definitely ahead of him in holdng roles
Better option in the 3 more attacking midfield roles - he would end up like Bryn Morris not getting enough game time!

He shouldn't be a priority target in my opinion. When Maddison returns, our priority needs to be a centre half to replace reda

Could work with Vincelot moving to right back until we sign a defender

I like Biggi but don't see him as a priority at the minute. Yes he could free up Vincelot to go rt back but we need him in midfield. We don't need Biggi this month we need a commanding centre back

Vincelot has been one of our best players this season, and integral to allowing fleck to blossom, not to mention 2-3 important goals he's contributed by getting himself in the box and on the end of things. Bigi isn't fit to lace Vincelot's boots, and moving him albeit temporarily to right back and replacing him an inferior player who lacks all the best attributes Vincelot has (aggression, drive, ability to spot danger) would have a hugely detrimental effect on the team.

People need to move on. Bigi wasn't that good when he left, and has gone backwards. He played just one competitive football game since April 2013. We should stay well clear.

I agreed initially because he's awesome at RB in FM. Then I read this and it makes far more sense.
