I'd like to see someone else partner Thomas at CB, take lati out the firing line and start with 2 up top, go for the jugular, Hull are bottom for a reason.
Hopefully it doesn't take us going 2 down to actually show intent and urgency!

25K expected. Ticket sales don't look too bad in the home end so guessing Hull not bringing many.

Simms in for Norman, and keep it that way to bed confidence into Ellis as he needs it, and keep Norman on those Cameos for now.
Kitching in for Lati, our best defensive period last season came with Bobby and Liam.
MvE needs dropping so chuck Eccles at RB for this game if not bring in a new RB in Jan as Milan needs showing he’s not undroppable.
Midfield 3:
Rudi and Torp as 8/10
Sheaf as the 6 sat in front of the back 4 to cover them and create that stable base.
EMC and Tatsu are fine as is and will both benefit from when Haji gets back.
Dovin back in net he’s been out the firing line for long enough now give him a go.
Keep Bidwell at LB for his experience.

Agree with most of that but maybe MvE or Lati at RB. Eccles in midfield, torp as 10 and Rudi on bench (to come on second half)

Just hope we get at them early and get the crowd up. A good home win will help the mood around the club so much, just Milwall away since Robins left so no real cathartic home event yet.

Why should Simms start ahead of any of the other options?

Think we are signing of the same hymn sheet there. Now if Saddle could just confirm Frank sees it the same way…

Confidence to be honest would be my answer.

On evidence he has scored more than any of our strikers in this division, he’s a young lad who needs to get a undisrupted time in the squad to build match fitness and get some belief back into him.

This is fantasy football. Changing it all up won't work. Eccles at right back instead of MVE is plain daft.

Why is it if Eccles can play there and had played there well, especially if MvE is out of form and maybe in need of a rest. I’d sooner see Eccles there than Lati

I'm not sure we have the luxury of being able to give starts to players to build confidence. He has ample opportunities off the bench and as yet hasn't shown anywhere near enough to warrant taking the shirt permanently and certainly not just because he needs a confidence boost.

We have a young squad, we haven’t imo treated them in the manner you have to with them.

He scored against Watford put in a shift, then dropped. Does well against Luton and then doesn’t get a start. You can’t keep dropping players and expecting them to have the maturity to pull themselves back up without it having a knock on to confidence.

Because he’s better than them. Or at least given a chance ten yards from goal I’d rather it fell to Simms than Bassette or BTA and that’s the ultimate test of a striker IMO.

Doesn't say a lot for our strike force really does it. And I agree , he's the best of the bunch

We need to score the first goal who ever plays, the confidence should come from that. Its probably the most important thing tomorrow as well as winning, we have been mostly playing catch up this season.

I had an odd dream last night.
Watching this game, but it was like 1980s retro video game graphics. Kasey Palmer (as a video game byte) carrying the ball with a line of defenders chasing him, but he was only moving from side touch line to the other horizontally until the game froze. Then some 30 or so kids were hosting a children's play in the theater inside my mansion.

No it’s not, at least Eccles will try, and that goes a long way in this league. MVE tossing it off every game is a great example of why we are in our current predicament. He should be sold on 1st January.

Thanks for that constructive feedback.

Glad you think MVE is worthy of wearing the shirt just because he thinks he is good enough - we are all entitled to our opinion and mine clearly differs from yours!

He’s a professional footballer on a very good salary. He needs to get a grip. Being so young doesn’t seem to interfere with Bassettes confidence. This is a critical period of home games, we can’t afford the strikers to be too timid .

I just got an email from the club with a photo of Brad Collins as the header, so I'm assuming he's starting tomorrow.

All players have a run of bad form, MVE was so unlucky not to score on Wednesday but for one of our players deflecting it wide.

Nothing wrong with a player having enthusiasm is what the fans like to see.

Bassettes confidence has done nothing to help him score goals though - a low confidence Simms has 3 and a highly confident Bassette has 1.

Simms is our best striker whilst Wright is out and should start
