Afternoon!

Im a 20 year old lad from Nuneaton who regularly paroles these forums to view the Coventry fans thoughts on the team so far this season. I haven't missed a game thus far this season and i can definitely see the team heading in the right direction with regards to the team growing in confidence and playing progressive passing football.

Does anyone know why we have so many negative brainless fans? its quite embarrassing sitting in the Ricoh sometimes and hearing the bollocks abuse coming from some fans like ' Don't go backwards ' When there's no option at all to go forward at all? im just tired off the negativity around the club and wish we would all get behind the lads and get this great club back to where it belongs!

The "don't go backwards" fans do my head in, because if it goes forward aimlessly they shout "who was that too?!"

There's nothing wrong with passing backwards. Keeping possession well puts pressure on the other team to do something when they've got the ball.

Footballs also a lot more enjoyable when you've got the ball, instead of running around after it.

The "don't go backwards" is more often than not apt though, when Murphy pumps it long and losses possession anyway.

by all means knock it back, slow, short tempo is great if everyone is doing it!

Anything that retains us possession is fine .We are definately a better team when we keep the ball on the deck,if we move it at a decent tempo with

good movement off the ball the openings come .

I would say this is starting to show in our play of late.

It definately suited the diamond as well ,only problem was tempo and movement were only evident in about 7 or 8 games last season, strangely enough

we got positive results on those occassions also.

Bingo! I haven't been this season yet. However, this is what I remember from games in the previous seasons. We weren't running off the ball creating space for each other. It only takes one player to run down the wing to make a defender think "is that who he's going to pass to" and then draw them out of position, for somebody else to move into the gap created and get the ball. It felt at times like watching my local Sunday league team.

OP: I can understand fans frustrations at times but to call someone shit and the like is totally uncalled for, we are "supporters" at the end of the day and should support the team not bark stupid, nonsense comments.

Edit: It's fair kop to give the opposition a bit of stick mind.
