Worst case scenario is that we'll be 8th and one point off by the end of Saturday, Anything is a bonus from this in my opinion.

That's why I'd revert to a 5 though I'm fairly sure we played a 5 at their place and they beat us comfortably.
They definitely don't score enough goals given the talent they've got. I would not be a fan of Parker if I supported them.

Nah, revert to a 5 and we'll stand off them and they'll pick us off and we'll lose without laying a glove on them. Which as you said is what happen at their pigsty of a ground/

Only to try and get something is to at least have a bit of a go.

Yup, years ago. As soon as they were known as Vincent Kompany's Burnley.

We played 5 at their place but with Bassette as a lone striker and Torp as a sort of number 10. We also had Sakamoto in midfield. Not sure it's necessarily the right barometer of whether 5 at the back works v Burnley.

It would be good to be competitive for a start.

I get that Leeds & Blades are better than us but we were also rans in both fixtuures.

Burnley have the same amount of points as Leeds!
They are 26 unbeaten in the league!!!!

Again, same as all the people saying they fancied us against Sheffield United, I just don't get it!!

Draw would be absolutely massive here. One time I’d be very happy to be bored to tears watching a 0-0.

Always fancy us to beat teams to end their long unbeaten runs, don't know why.
Probably will then slip up against Portsmouth...

A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world, losing would be bad, so I will pick the win out of the three options available 3-1 city

i still prefer wright on the wing. i know he got a hat trick against sunderland, but that was because they were so shit.
simms, with saka and wright playing to him and off him, with rudi doing his thing in midfield, that's our best attacking option.
2-0.

Got a feeling we could we see a return to a back 3 for this one?
Collins/Wilson
Lati Thomas Kitching
MVE Sheaf Grimes Rudoni
Saka Simms Wright

Or if we stick with a back 4
Collins/Wilson
MVE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Sheaf Grimes
Saka Rudoni Wright
Simms

Don’t really fancy either GK but would plump for Wilson out of the choices we have.

Burnley 26 unbeaten, conceded 11 goals all season. Best defensive record in Europe. A real tough challenge.
May the force be with us.

They've let in 40 goals fewer than us and are two places higher than us. Mental.

Before the Sheffield United game I was more confident about getting something from this one out of the two.

Since Dovin is now injured, I can't see anything other than a loss. I only hope that Wilson is fit.

Remember how Fulham were thrashing everyone 7-0 a couple seasons ago and how we did the double over them? We were brave and just went for it. Granted we had Hamer and Vik, but sometimes belief goes a long way. Plus we can’t afford to make mistakes. The other day versus Sheff Utd, BT gave away a free kick in such a dangerous position for the first goal and was a step slow in marking Campbell for the second.

As long as we’re not our own worst enemies, we might be able to get something from this match.

took the missus to that game to try and sell football to her, and try and understand that feeling when we score

of course it was a 0-0 v milwall and atmosphere was toxic and she just asked me things like “what’s a nonce?” throughout

Yup and just shows how far ahead the top 3 are. We have to finish 5th as two-legs against 3rd would be too much. A one-off pressure game at Wembley however...

Good test for us, see if we can bounce back against a side that's better than us. I'm going for a 1-0 loss but playing well.

I'd bring in Rudoni for Allen. Looked lively on Friday and always popping up with chances.

Edit: Kitching for Binks too.

Struggling to feel much confidence about this. We tend to concede in most games and that risk will only increase without Dovin/Wilson. Burnley have conceded 6 away goals all season which is obscene so conceding first will potentially feel terminal.

A draw will fee like a win and would give such a boost going into the Portsmouth game and beyond.

Just hope that if we lose (3 losses in 4) it doesn't start to impact on the players' confidence.

Kitching, Rudoni and DaSilva for Binks, Allen (or Torp - can't decide) and Bidwell. I was quite impressed with Simms' work ethic on Friday so I'd be tempted to bring him in for EMC and play Wright off the left.
