Not a fan of Thomas Kitching Wilson or Bidwell personally but would give them the shirt now and try and play a settled back line for a bit.

What a relief it was to see the team putting more effort in and mostly showing some real skill.

We need to be tidier with some of our passing because ceding possession in dangerous areas, as we did a few times, is likely to cost us. We got away with it last night.

If we can play like this in most games then I think we have a real chance of scraping into the playoffs despite our poor start.

Brilliant last night. Even before the game I noticed and wonder if anyone else did the different training warm up and it was noticeable the team were warming up at a higher intensity and lots more high fives almost making a point of togetherness.

deserved a 3-0 win. Blackburn manager agrees they were second best all night which they were. Well done city. Win Saturday and football is as fickle as it always is.

Agreed. He put some quality balls into the box 1st half. Thought Dasilva was unfortunate to lose his place as he was one of the better performers at Leeds IMO

Agreed - he was puffing a bit along with a few - particularly when the ball got to Wright on one occasion he raced up field but Wright spunked it and he had to get back as he was out of position - but great goal to get things going

Kitching was shaky last night, especially early on. Some poor touches and getting turned. Dived into a couple of challenges. But that could be the importance of the game and lack of match practice?

They got a clean sheet so keep the unit together including the keeper. Give them a run of at least 3-4 games (barring injuries) and see how they go. They have earned the chance.

The main thing I want to see from Kitching is he has matured and grown up a bit. There are hard but fair players who are prepared to take it and give it. Then there are players who think they are hard men but let their buttons get pressed and get needless yellows and reds.

Kitching needs to decide this season what sort of CB he is?

Indeed, a lot more of us have been to that dump than people from Blackburn have been here. First site coming out of the station there is a derelict pub.

People seem to have forgotten that they were really solid for a good chunk of last season. Our defensive record was in the top 5 until the end of season collapse.

Shakey first half, a couple of awful passes which Blackburn should have punished us from, but the 2nd half was more like it. Wrights goal breathed confidence into the team and it was great to get a 3rd to kill the game off. My only gripe was EMC positioning again when playing right wing, he is far too central which left Milan having to cover the whole right flank the first half. He was the opposite side to me the 2nd half so not sure if this continued, but I would love to see him beat his man on the outside and get crosses in for the strikers to attack

He was winded after blocking a shot from the Blackburn corner prior to the counter attack . Bidwell looks after himself and has always been one of the fitter members of the squad

Quite amusing that some seem to think the players have turned it around by following their advice.

Bidwell hasn't been at his best this season. But has still had good periods in games. He had his best game of the season last night even if you discount the goal he scored.

One thing I will say about Bidwell, few players cover more ground than him in a game and it is intelligent running. He is an important part of our high press. He gets up and down the pitch. People blame him for getting out of position but he is doing his job. Others aren't back filling in midfield when he goes forward. He is one of the few players in the side that knows how to offer the player on the ball an option for the pass. That has been the our big problem this season playing out from the back. A mix of lack of options and players on the ball choosing the wrong option. It has starved the striker and wide players of opportunity. Also it has fragmented our rhythm.

It is fine margins in football between success and failure. As frustrating as our season has been there actually hasn't been much wrong. It's just been positioning on pitch and on field decisions when in possession. Causing us to lose control of the midfield. Fans have been barking up the wrong tree with all the backroom changes in my opinion.

It is great to have Sheaf back. But as good as Sheaf is I think it also illustrates how poor Torp is. Out of possession and when he is off the ball he lacks awareness of what is around him. But his biggest weakness is a lack of pace. The guy has one gear. People talk about match fitness, but match fitness or even increased fitness doesn't give you extra pace when you haven't got it.

For me Torp is in the same box as Allen. Useful squad players who give you an option off the bench or maybe a game here and there to rest players i.e. cup games against lower league teams.

People say we haven't replaced Hamer, well we probably never will or at least for a long time. But I do think Torp was bought to plug the gap. I have pointed out his attributes many times, but that lack of pace really lets him down and he lacks the ability to find pockets of space in midfield when we are in possession, to give the CB's an option to pass. But most of our midfielders are like that.

We started to look like a team again last night that were on the same song sheet.

A comment on Hadji Wright I really like the guy. He reminds me of Dave Bennett. He will drop out of a game or struggle to get in it and just frustrate you. But then he has the ability to suddenly destroy teams in a 15 to 20 minute period. He is also that rare breed who can be starved by the opposition but get one chance and take it. The guy has a great attitude and so much potential. A real cool head when it comes to the pressure of an important penalty kick. Plus he works harder than some fans think and often mops up on the edge of our own penalty area.

Loved it when Wright got there fullback booked last night . He turned him inside out ,slowed down to allow him to catch up and then did him again . Only thing the fullback could do was shove him over ,was great to watch

Couldn't go up but watched it instead. In tricky conditions and while we made a few mistakes that could have been punished one big plus was how calm Sheaf was, felt more like the player we've been missing again.

He wasn't the only one. MVE made several really good challenges to regain possesion only to give the ball away with his next pass.

Probably doesn't put you in as much trouble as when as CB does it which is,why they get more flack.
But thought the all did the defensive work OK.

Kitching had a couple of bad ones and a couple of terrible ones. If they'd have scored it would have been a different game and he'd have been slaughtered.
He's had a bit of luck and should get a few games now. Needs to cut that out and any loss of composure. Because it's been a recurrent problem.
He has the edge we need in defense.

I did wonder if Wilson's propensity for the dark arts motivated his starting yesterday; Cantwell getting booked for rising to bait is very predictable
