Yeah, good shout Matt. I said to my daughter early doors that Eccles is playing pretty far forward. Thought Torp would take the Rudoni position, but Eccles did really well.

He pressed really well and fully emptied the tank and we had the luxury of taking him off for the game in the week

I don’t know where the idea that Lampard doesn’t rate Eccles comes from

Saw some potential in that Mve/kkh partnership. That could be a lot of fun, then allowing option of saka on the left if needed. There’s probably a few more options than we think in the squad as it is.

Eccles played a lot higher back end of last season.
At the end of the game today him and Lampard were laughing and joking as they made there way over to the fans .
I think Lampard sees him as a very important member of the squad and one he can keep improving

Torp can play 10 but I think he suits the role between Grimes and whoever plays 10 .

His energy today was infectious and set the tone for the high press.
How some of our fanbase don't rate him and think he would be an easy player to replace is just laughable

Torp's goal, arriving in the penalty area just at the right time, who does that remind you of.

I'll Give you clue, ex England International.

Red, white and blue - fitting colours for a team backed by Americans.

An excellent bonus of having a world class midfielder as manager. He has taken Torp and Rudoni to a much higher level. Has spoken highly about Eccles a few times now so wouldn't be surprised if he advances as much as the rest of the midfield players.

Looks more like a French flag. Which is fitting since they basically surrendered today and gave us their land without a fight!

I think this is where when you compare teams you see just how good our starting xi is .
How many of their back four get in our team?
Their midfield?
Their wide players ?
Their strikers?

Don't! You'll get the weirdos that support 2 teams based on their religious leanings telling you Kyogo is the best striker in the league!

I also felt Rudi would be a big miss today, but glad to be proven wrong. With that said, he’s a huge player for us and the fact that he’ll be missing for weeks is still very much a concern for me. If others like Eccles, Allen, Andrews can hold the fort in the meantime (as they did today) I guess it bodes well for the team to give much needed minutes and exposure/experience to the fringe players. But they have to keep the levels up under hostile environments away from home.

Torp has scored as many goals this season as Birmingham have

League one is his level on today's showing .
For the pricetag you expect him to be Hamer levels

I would say they were one of the most gutless sides I’ve seen at the CBS. At times it was embarrassing for them.

Class that Obikwu scored again.

Keep him there until Christmas and if he’s proving to be too good for League 1, send him to a struggling Championship club.

Birmingham City.

Not sure he will be too good, he's only on the bench at the minute.

He's doing well though

I know a lad that played with Obikwu in the academy and he says he has the potential to be very , very good .
Definitely a player we need to keep a hold of with a view to the long term

Let’s be honest - they were terrible and just gave up trying to play when we scored the second - it was like a training session in the second half.

Id be concerned if I’d been told this is the richest club in the world destined for greatness and yet a shire horse like Lyndon Dikes is the go to solution to score goals.

I know our squad could have a bit more depth, but its not too shabby when you consider EMC is replaced by BTA who scores, and Rudoni is replaced by Eccles who gets an assist (sort of)

With EMC, Rudoni and Dovin all injured, we still manage to name 9 very capable players on the bench!

Next 3 for sure. But then Sheffield Wednesday and Wrexham?

With only 3 undefeated sides out of 92 in the FL with two of them being 1st and 2nd in the Championship it will be interesting to see if it's us or Middlesbrough who can keep it going the longest. Keep it up for just 2 more games and we'll have played the 1st 1/5 of the season without a defeat.

Attackers and wingers is where we are a bit short, but with 2 strikers in the starting line up and another on the bench, we should be ok until January ()

If Wright pics up and injury we may struggle though. We certainly could do with another player who can play across the front 3 positions, but most teams would love to have our bench today.
