Oh dear, didn't make this game but 40-42 at home is a set back. I know we are in a rebuilding stage but the inconsistency is king here ! Don't know much about them but Hartpury College racked up another 64 points today against fancied Moseley to continue a 100% record !. Where are they getting their players/resources from ?

Aren't they affiliated with Gloucester or someone of that ilk?

I know a dead keen Cov fan, been going up for years and it was he who told me.

He also wondered what would happen of they got promoted.

As for Cov, they have been inconsistent now for a number of seasons. It is something they have to eradicate if they want to challenge and do so seriously.

Did they? Wow!

I always check their results on the Beeb website (well I have done since Wasps came to town).

Never been but have always rooted for them over the years.

Anyway, the Beeb had them down as a defeat, final score, 40-42, so to pull out the win is fantastic.

You know, as strange as it sounds and though I don't care for rugby that much and have been a City fan all my life, there is a small part of me considering making the switch.

I just don't enjoy going up the City at all lately. Hoping that is just temporary and when we start doing well the buzz will return, but it is quite odd, because we have had some terrible seasons and I have always still wanted to go and be there every game, even when we have kept losing.

The off-field stuff doesn't help at all, or the concerns for the future, or indeed the intransigence of our beloved owners.

The mad Cov fan I know has asked me a few times to go with him to the Butts and I have to confess to being very tempted.

Do it, better day than CCFC, yes the Butts has one seated stand but I tend to stand opposite side, you can stand, have a beer, move around a little bit, made to feel welcome and usually with Cov plenty of points (both ways) the standard isn't amazing but it's 3rd tier, we're hardly spoilt for quality at the Ricoh.

Blokes giving their all, putting their bodies on the line and usually you can have a bit of humour with opposition fans, match officials and occasionally players.

Moseley 17th December will be a feisty cracker!

Yep, local derby. Cov's biggest rivals aren't they?

Sure are been a few years since we've played them I think.

Usually ends up in a scrap!

They've got a few ex Cov that joined after being released by Cov under the new coach last year so they'll be looking to get one over and do the double over us this season!

Yeah, I think we lost quite badly up there didn't we? Can't quite recall, but I thought they racked up quite a number of points in the first meeting.

Nope, got that wrong. Close game and low scoring match too.

Confusing it with a different game I think.

Off the top of my head I think it was around 24-16 ish?

Ok the road Cov have been getting hammered!

At home only one defeat and that was to unbeaten Hartpury to a late score!

My Dad remembers the years when this was the big fixture, England internationals facing off. Maybe I'll try and persuade him to re-live his glory supporting years

Can't make this big derby match either, booked a dual City break in Glasgow and Edinburgh for 5 days. Be going to the Blackheath game next in January !
Having spent last night thinking we had lost thanks to the BBC, quite chuffed to discover this morning that we snatched victory !
Cheers Otis !

They were lucky to get the win yesterday
The performance of the backs was tentative at best, looking short of energy and desire in the tackle
Or maybe Old Albanians were better than we anticipated
Shocking Injury for one of there boys prior to half time, compound fracture of his leg poor lad.
Horrific to hear it snap and then his evident pain.

Heard the injury described as similar to David Busst, I hope for the lad it's nowhere near as bad as that!

Let's hope not poor guy.
On another note I'm wondering if we're seeing some evidence of TF's comments from the SCG coming to fruition.
Mark your calendars any fans of UB40, level 42 and I believe the actual "Wailers ",a la Bob Marley!!

They're done and dusted for promotion

Why this div needs a 2ndv 3rd playoff or 2nd bottom in champ play 2nd in N1

Can Hartpury go up though heard murmurings (at the Hartpury game this season) of being a college funded team their are potential issues or something don't know the ins and outs.

No Ash, usually roll into the ground just before KO and start on the Purity there
Normally just in front of the sticks just about where the bar was prior to being a sponsors lounge /hot food kiosk.

Have heard there may be Issues at CRL too and more emphasis on our likely tie into them.

Let's say it Competes with Malakas theory.
It's either a Clear out at the Ricoh and Mega bucks or Fisher at the Butts.
Malaka may be closer to the source than I am.

I will be honest I didn't read much Into malakas thread after the 1st page & I'm not an in depth follower into all the politics, so what's happening?

CCFC moving to the BPA seeming likely?

I'm sure you're like me from somebody who goes to the BPA on a regular basis.

Logistically I cannot see how it could cope with 5/6k let alone anymore!!

5k St's sold this season, threats of boycotting them next year, Butts with some adjustments could possibly cope.
Like I said I'm probably a bit further removed from the source than Malaka.

I think the retirement homes being built was the final straw in making it work for a football stadium with say a 10/12k capacity.

What does the side stand hold 2,500? Build same opposite.
Railway end no room to go back suppose could accommodate 1200 standing?

Few more other end. No real parking, access roads etc

Personally I hope for the Rugby clubs sake it doesn't happen.

Should be a great occasion at the BPA this Saturday. Big derby match v Brum, large crowd, good atmosphere, fancy dress, beer all day and a great band in the clubhouse afterwards. Bit choked I'm missing it but I hope folk get behind them with the City not playing and it being Xmas and all that.
