Wuss have the wind at their backs in the second, so an attritional Cov Dog 40 minutes needed now.

FT 29-19.
They were on a hiding to nothing against the RFU's latest expensively assembled shoe-in project, so I'm not too surprised.
Should have had a try in the second, dropping the ball over the line in a collision, which would have yielded two bonus points. Shame that.

Having now watched it back - that was a penalty try to Cov. The Wuss defender nearly took his head off.

Good effort from Cov, gutting to come so close to a positive result though.

Haven’t seen any highlights yet, but it seems that Worcester got away with one. Not surprising really, they were never going to be allowed to lose on their big return.

Fantastic win from Cov today. They were losing 18-17 at half time, and had a player sent off early in the 2nd half, when the score hadn't changed. They then showed tremendoys spirit and managed to come back to win the match 35-30

It was a 20 minute sending off for Sam Maunder (and a marginal decision at best), but yes, it put Cov down to fourteen for the second time in the game (for a total of thirty minutes overall). A good result and a gritty performance.

I didn't realise he came back on, I assumed a red card meant game over for him. When did that rule get introduced?

Or maybe I'm confused and it starts off as a yellow and then upgraded to red or not as the case may be.

Prem: Relegation scrapped as league switches to franchise-style model

Traditional promotion and relegation to and from the Prem will be scrapped from the 2026-27 season as landmark changes to the English game are voted through.
www.bbc.co.uk

“Promotion” through application only, possibility of “relegation” through not bringing the vibes.

Bids will be assessed on standard of play, finances, investment potential, infrastructure and how their geographical base could help spread the Prem's appeal, among other factors.

Teams could also be demoted out of the top flight if they fail to perform on the pitch or engage fans, but only "if a stronger, viable candidate exists".

Don't know how it's possible to be so completely out of touch with what the public want. There's not many sports in this country that have closed off leagues while expecting tens of thousands of people to turn up and huge TV deals.

The few we do have seem to have constant complaints from supporters that there's too many dead games and they're seeing the same teams year after year.

Surely 2 top divisions with 12 to 14 teams. They'll be so many meaningless games from January onwards. RFU don't understand
