Thinks .........

They have been bankrolled for many years by former player Dicky (now Sir Richard) Evans, now an exile in Kenya, who has now decided to throttle back that support from 2025.
However, he recently bunged in a final £2.5 million to ease the club into finding new backers.

Hate to say I told you so.
It's been coming, too.

What is our injury list like at the moment?
Seemed to be missing a few big players down at Pirates?

Was this being realistic a prioritising exercise or genuine injuries?

Hope they do, I quite like it with a team located down there

The club tends to keep its cards close to its chest on such matters.
However, they have a few tight five injuries to my knowledge, plus at least two first-picks in the back five.
Losing Rigg, Chudley, Pellegrini and Wand has probably been the biggest hurdle though, and will need addressing before next season if there is any ambition to make that a campaign where they finally go for it.
Sharpy is getting no younger, so I really hope they can make a proper fist of it soon.

To quote the Club "there are several large screens in the clubhouse. Advance ticket purchase is advised"

You win the league but then have to beat the last team to finish in the Prem. Utterly bonkers that rule is

The revenue gap is huge between the Championship and the Prem it’s as bad as the football situation, if not worse.
Forgive me if I’m wrong but bankrolled Ealing seemed to almost have two full decent squad’s against us on Saturday , they were bringing so many subs on. This is a team that averages just over a 1000 supporters for home games.
Money brought by wealthy benefactors has destroyed even competition in most sports.

Whenever I’ve been to Ealing there were no more than 5-600 home fans.

Was noticeable on Saturday that they brought no fans with them too, for probably their biggest game of the season.

Being battered.
No real surprise tbh. We've looked toothless in attack and fragile in defence for a couple of months.
Recruitment will start in the next few weeks, and it'll need some serious investment if next season isn't to see a repeat of this.

41-26 and six tries to three. Says it all really.
Edit: I was so pissed off I miscounted. We got four tries, so at least we got a bonus point.
Lucky to get that, frankly.

Mad 3 losses in a row since they applied for the Premiership

Cov seem to have found their scoring touch again after it went awol for weeks (months?).
HT in the Prem Cup, Cov lead by five converted tries to two despite being down to 14 yet again (Trinder YC).
38-14

Full Time score: Cov 76-21 Nottm
Jimmy Martin hat trick, Biggs with two as a rep., and Hitchcock also gets two.
Five points to nil, keeping them in contention to progress.
Bigger fish to fry yet in Northampton and Leicester though.
Good morale booster, whatever, in front of a poor-ish crowd.
Oh, and Josh Barton got two as well, also as a second-half replacement.
The others were from Maunder and former Nottm man Tiueti.

Cov go top of their group now, following Tigers' win over Saints.

I fear somewhat for Cov today.
They start, vs Northampton (a), with the same lineup that battered Nottm last week. But that was a fairly weak Nottm side.
Saints are the reigning Premiership champs for a reason, so any side they put out (even missing their internationals) will be strong.
However, Cov will have a little fresh confidence after ending a poor run with a free-flowing display, so who knows?
I'll go with a fairly close 5-1 or even closer 5-2 to Saints.
But the opposite would be welcome.

My Saints supporting friend says they are much weakened with injury and international duty so thinks it could be close

Getting his excuses in early
They still have a larger and far more costly squad available to them than Cov have, even without those they can't pick.
Their non-availabilities just make a thrashing less likely.
However, if the real Cov turn up, a shock could be on.

If it's actually sold out (instead of the usual 'almost sold out') they'll be quoting somewhere north of 5200 as an attendance figure.
Fwiw, my mate, who has to have one of the front row disabled allocated seats (no way he could have a higher up one unless he was carried up), got the very last one available well over a week ago. And that's right at the Butts end of the stand which displeased him somewhat .
That wasn't the case against Northampton, which was another 'almost sold out' game.
We shall see...

It really wasn't expected that it would be accepted. Right old stitch-up.
I just hope Ealing now grow some bollocks and challenge the decision against them
They'll win the league - they should be promoted.

Why do they have a minimum capacity of 10k? No such rule exists for the many many many many many many many many times more popular Football Premier League

To protect the clubs in the Premiership who get attendances under 10,000, I assume all clubs in Premiership have stadiums of 10k+

Relatively quiet up here today.
Thought there might be a few more, what with no football on.
Decent game though.
