West Brom are in serious trouble. Weird how some clubs are expected to do well just because of who they are.

Just had a look at the ins and outs of all the championship clubs.

Bar Burnley and Sheff Utd we have done the best business by a mile.

Really think we will be pushing Autos

Leaving us out of this Burnley have to be favourites for me. Walked it last time - big spenders this time. Parker has form.

Leeds: looked a lot stronger last season and finished 3rd. Work to do in the transfer window.

Luton: no worse than 2 seasons ago when they beat us in the playoffs... arguably not much better.

Sheffield United: played in the Prem last season, parachute payments, whatever... won less games against premier league opposition than us in 2024. And no I'm not including Man U.

Boro: should be solid but hard to see them troubling the top 2, WBA: Broke, Norwich: Good end to the transfer window and they could be a threat.

Just my thoughts.

Wonder what would have happened to CJ Egan-Riley if he had come to us instead of Burnley.

I think people only realised how much trouble they are in yesterday.

The true indication of our chances will be at the end of the transfer window. If we sign the expected CM and a couple of others I doubt that there will be a better squad in The Championship. What happens then is purely down to MR and the coaching team. Currently I think that the odds of us winning The Championship 16/1 , finishing top 2 15/2 , being promoted 5/1 and top 6 15/8 are a steal.

Sheff Utd having big problems with injuries. Wilder looks exhausted already!

He always inherits teams that should easily go up and blunders them over the line. I do expect Burnley to go up but if they don't it'll be down to Parker.

Arguably it’s the first season where there’s real pressure on Robins to deliver.

The market shows that, apart from Leeds & Burnley, they don't have a clue.

However, the market is totally in their favour (3 from 24 'win' & at least a third of the field outside the 'top 2' are 7s or lower). Essentiallly, this will be a 'winning' market for the bookies, with the rank outsider (Oxford) being 25/1!

Would not pay it much attention to be honest.

They played Hamer on the wing! I'm still wary they might spend a bit but I'm not actually sure, the Prince could definitely be pocketing everything he can before flogging them off. Fingers crossed.

I think we will go up this season unless we have really bad luck with injuries or sell a couple of our best players. However, whilst the relegated sides will be favourites, there are a lot of mid table sides from last year who changed their managers and improved their form. A lot of those teams will be harder to beat and better organised than last season.
DK will want cup runs again. They screwed us and Middlesborough last season. Hopefully our squad with more quality can cope.
You cannot help but get enthused by the Everton performance, but that was one friendly. We pretty much had poor pre-seasons the year we won the FA Cup and the last time we got promoted from the equivalent of this league.

Hard to be sure about Leeds until the end of the window. If they lose players like Jimmy Summerville and Bill Gnonto without time to replace they’ll struggle to match last season’s performance.

Burnley, great squad but not sure Parker can get the best out of them.

I think Luton will be really strong. Norwich too with Sargent and Sara still around. Their new manager will have access to Arsenal loanees. Boro, bit like us had a major rebuild last year but a very strong side now. WBA are in transition.

Sheff Wed could be dark horses for the top 6 as could Sunderland who have a lot of quality.

Just my ramblings. Probably way off.

Excellent. I'm sure Hamer and Ahmedhodzic will be pushing their agents to get them out the door as we speak.

Agree with a lot of that. Think Leeds and Luton are going to get the two auto spots. Would love us to be in the playoffs again. Hopefully, we'll be strong enough this time around.

I can’t look past Leeds for top spot, but the rest there really isn’t much to choose. For how Burnley walked the league last time, Scott Parker had a similar advantage at Bournemouth and just scraped home.

Luton will be the toughest of the 3 in my view simply because of the quality of the manager, cohesion in the squad and a style of play that’s awful to watch but very tough to beat.

Burnley have to be fancied, of course, I just think Parker is a bit of a rubbish manager.

Rob Edwards is a fantastic manager. We're so lucky to have Robins, but Luton are in a great place too.

Will be tricky to finish above at least 3 of these 4, Burnley, Leeds, Sheff U and Luton. We will be up there giving it a go and to me that is huge progress. Confident with MR and new backroom staff in place we'll get there soon.

I stand by my view that Luton will be the highest placed of the relegated clubs and personally are my other pick for the autos. Burnley I expect to be in the play offs though.

Good signing for them. Might mean they can't afford Hamer anymore though, who they were linked with.

The squad looks very exciting. The biggest things now are fitness and mentality. Fitness is obvious, we did run out of steam and you have to be at 100% all year like Ipswich were to pull it off. Mentality last season was so up and down week to week. People saying our minds were on the cup at Birmingham away, if that was the reason for that shambolic performance (with a decent 11 out!) then that is a huge worry. We were battered by them in every department all because we had a big game coming up, that sort of attitude will see the bubble burst in April. New staff and fresh faces should help that, but it does concern me
