Have a feeling we will achieve automatic promotion this season… hope I am right, however, I also don’t want to jinx it. PUSB

I don't want to jinx anything either but there's just a positive feeling around the club at the minute and everything's coming together at the right time.

My gut is saying that we are going up this year and we are going to piss the league.

But my gut is also telling me that the double cheeseburger and oreo shake that I just ate will make me shit the bed. So who knows.

We're definitely set up with the playing resources to have a go and our pre-season games feel they've been well chosen for us to start the season sharp and on the front foot. If we do add a CB and a CM then we've got 23 senior players !!
I'm not even counting Tavares & Rodriguez in that group

If it’s not this season, then it might possibly be the next. We have finally got the financial support that we’ve always wanted from Doug King. Plus the fact Doug King listens to the fans, he adjusts accordindly to complaints. We couldn’t ask for anyone better at the moment

Won't be many better squads than ours come the opening day
And won't be many better managers either

We’ve added a lot of depth and options, though I do feel were that driving DMF away from maximum potential.

Very encouraging times, and could be more incoming.

If there is one position I think we are going to spend big on it will be a midfielder

Just think we need a couple more signings to really bolster us for the whole season and we’ll be challenging for top 4. Genuinely think we have a big chance of getting promotion this season.

These are good times …. It does make me wonder though what DK would do if things don’t go as expected. Like the unthinkable in changing Manager. How long would that take?

No win in 10 games?
Lower half at Christmas?
No Playoffs ?
How much credit does MR have ?

It must be remembered that he has invested a lot into Ryton, players and infrastructure and he is a successful businessman probably used to making difficult calls.

Crucial that Vik goes. Even Hamer. Need to invest that money in a top class DM, RB cover and an experienced CB if possible, defo the DM tho.

I think the Vik transfer is very close i would assume lots has been done in regards to that deal already. As for Gus i cant see him staying up there but not fussed when that deal drops.

Gus key also as we get circa 1.5-2m / with Vik that’s going to be best part of £8m (circa)

Things are looking positive but let’s be patient. Even with a squad that looks like it could challenge on paper it could take a few seasons.

It's fab that we have strengthend.

Other teams will have also have strengthend too though, obviously.

We will just have to see how we match up

Should be a really good season, but time will tell

Would be great if we could hit the ground running this time out

After the friendly against Everton and if we can play like that then on the beach by March as champions but seriously this does look like a team that will get us there so I’m going to put a lump £££ on promotion @ 16/1

Didn't watch it, but haven't an awful lot of people said that Everton were dreadful? Have to factor that in too of course, if that was the case

We looked brilliant on the night but Everton were unbelievably poor. We just kept taking the ball off them as soon as they got it. Even after we'd practically changed the whole outfield team we still outplayed them. They're a week or so behind us in their preparation, though so the real test will be when we kick off next week.

Dyche was singing our praises after though. He clearly rates us.

We should be in the play offs. For the autos, a lot of things need to happen:

- New signings click
- New coaching staff gel
- Defence learn from experience
- Parachute teams underperform
- Bit of luck

But it might just happen….

Too early to tell. Plenty of times in this division teams have assembled a load of players that have been good on paper but failed to deliver. We need a bit of luck and the players that delivered last season to do the same again and our new signings to hit the ground running.

Should be lots of goals in this team.
If Simms and Wright get 15 each and
BTA, Sakamoto, EMC, Rudoni, Torp get 5 each we’d be looking at 55 goals alone for our more forward thinking players and really you’d be wanting less conservative estimates than I have put.

My fear is playing teams that don’t like playing football and just put 10 men behind the ball, we can never seem to get past a draw with those sorts of teams.
