Just wondered if anybody's bought this years version
I have & so far Covs season's more or less mirroring their real one & struggling to win a league game in the first half dozen games or so (mind you,it doesn't help that Stokes,Rose & Sordell are all crocked for the first few months when you start)
Mind you,Ponticelli did manage to score a hat-trick on his debut in a 4-1 caning of Swansea U23s away in the shitty Checkatrade cup lolz
(Also,Jamie Sterry gets called up to the Italy U21 team,so a bit of Azurri magic against Morecambe for his goal yesterday,haha)

Same here, I found it very difficult to get a win. Found a bit of form now though, McBean plays for me up front as part of a front three. Haven't promoted Ponticelli though, it's a real struggle this year on the game. Normally in previous years you can start winning from the start and practically run away with the league, however this one seems to be more realistic. No money and in order to sign anyone you have to juggle money and release players or cancel loans..

I started by binning off Ricketts to Walsall on a free. Freed up some wages and brought in Jordan Spence on a free to play at RB and cover CB. He's playing well for me so far. Won 3 and drawn 1 of the first 4 games and beat WBA in the EFL Cup. Solid start. Agyei is scoring goals for me.

Ive already finished my first season as Cov on this years 17, i loitered around the top 3 for around the first 25 games, then struggled to win until the end of the season, finishing in 15th. Agyei was the source of around half my goals, scoring 27, the next best being 5 goals from tudgay/sordell.

I've got a few goalscorers, all sharing the goals at the moment. I'm not that far through the season though, will pick it up again tonight though. Agyei, for me is very wasteful, misses a lot of chances and a lot of the time has a poor rating. Jones isn't as good in this year's and last. However his potential in last seasons was pretty good, have you found as gems in the academy? I've released a few loans and promoted academy players as backup, money is so tight.

The only academy players I've found of any use are Stevenson and Harries, but overall the starting squad is very poor. I had to rely on loans that didnt require any payment to stop me from getting the sack late on.

I pre-ordered it so i had the beta, and had a bit of spare time, seemed to fly through it, considering the amount of goalless draws

4 games into the season, 2 wins 1 draw, 1 loss so far.

Playing 4-2-3-1 and the only transfers of note were Ricketts (also to Walsall) and bringing in Oliver Davies on a free to play in goal.

Wright playing on the left hand side of the 3 seems to be my best player so far, along with Turnbull

I got promoted first season. McBean bagged a few early season playing 4-2-3-1, then I signed Jamar Loza (remember him in real life) on a free in January who ended up scoring 15. Jones scored 12 as a CAM with lameiras and Reid getting about 5 each.

Turnbull and willis at CB with sterry and Haynes full backs and Charles cook in goal for the first half before I managed to grab Tyrone Mings on loan in January (Definitely an unrealistic bug in the game). Gadzhev and Bigi in CM are a useful unit, with Setevenson chipping in a couple of assists and goals.

Only major addition other than mings was Barlassiser a young lad from Newcastle, he scored 9 as a right winger despite having terrible stats and being the only player in his position I could get!

I offloaded Macrus to free up some wages as he is useless, and tried to shift ricketts but couldn't find a taker.

Budget is horrendously tight in the championship and I am not hopeful of staying up. Just had a failed take over bid as well, which put an embargo in place just as players were released from clubs, meaning I missed out on a lot of the better free agents and was less than ideal.

I did that on an old Football Manager as an experiment to see what would happen to Coventry.

Real Madrid bought David Bell for £60m and then I went on holiday for 3 years to see what happened to Coventry City.

We ended up going down because Andy Thorn decided to sign Emile Heskey on a £60k a week deal and flood the coaching staff with 20 coaches.

Managed to get promoted in the 1st season by just scoring more than everyone else. Made my manager an excellent "attacking coach" and bought in another coach with 19 attacking and we scored 110 goals. Loaned in a RW, Gilliead from Newcastle, and Walsh from Everton who is quality and they helped massively.

Went massively the other way in the Championship and tried to make us defensively solid while not changing the formation. Currently sitting mid-table at January. Sign Joao Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon.

Snuck into the play offs with a criminally low points total, but got promoted and then the bird sold Jodi Jones behind my back for £3.7m. Jordan Turnbull POTS.

Finished 8th in my first season in the Championship with free transfers Adam Le Fondre and Jacob Murphy the stand out players.

Just been taken over by a Latvian businessman who wants to replace me with Steve Evans!

Whenever I've been at a club in the midst of a takeover they always threaten to replace me with Gareth Southgate no matter who the club is, it's like he follows me from game to game like a digital Freddy Krueger.

It was FM... 15? 14? Where after three games in charge the club got taken over, and I was replaced by Gary Megson.

Midway through the second season, got rid of the majority of players and replaced them with free's. sitting in 7th. I am in the midst of a takeover as well, but they want to replace me with Chris Hughton.

I once had a game as Cov where we got bought out by an Arab billionaire, he then sacked me but nobody else was good enough so i got hired back. Did amazingly well, won the prem a couple of times, got beaten in the champions league final by Barcelona. Left at the end of my contract but he offered me the job again with a ridiculous transfer budget and named a new stadium after me. Spent the entire budget in one window to assemble a galacticos squad, turns out the guy didn't actually have the money any more so we went into admin and lost all of the players I bought really cheap. Got sacked in the relegation zone playing the youth team and never got a job again as I'd bankrupted my club.

Started the season surrendering a lead to lose at Swindon, but then winning the next two. That followed a run of two draws and three defeats where I didn't score a single goal, so I decided to promote McBean and give him a shot. He scored two goals in his first 15 mins and then got himself injured for a month, but it seemed to spark the team as I've not lost in five games and Sordell's come back to score four past Gillingham away. Hopefully the board either fucks off or miraculously finds me some cash so I can take McBean on a permie.

I've just started mine, flogged Ricketts to Walsall and sent all paid loanees back to their clubs (apart from Sterry)... Venus was poached by Fulham so brought in Curbishley as DoF, signed Anthony Gerrard and Carlton Cole on freebies and a load of Tottenham youngsters on loan... Not easy though.

Side note, I brought in one of Martin Jol's brothers as Assistant... turns out his brothers are called Dick Jol and Cock Jol... those crazy Dutch!

We've had eerily similar games, Ricketts to Walsall and Venus to Fulham both happened on mine, and I had Gerrard and Cole on trial too. Couldn't sign Cole though as my transfer budget went into the red when I paid Tudgay to fuck off.

Love this game so much. I haven't bought the latest one as I have a Cov game going on last years version in which the club was bought by an Israeli billionaire - just don't want to start again with SISU!
