Out of curiosity, has anyone booked the day off work / a hotel etc. for the day of the JPT Wembley Final ? I booked the day off work today, you know, just incase I'm well aware that I could very well be counting chickens but where I work 2 people cannot book the same day as holiday so I wanted to get in there early !

I know there should not even be a thought about Wembley yet but it's hard not to get a little bit excited when the last time Cov were at Wembley you were 1 year old

Am I alone ? Anyone gone as far as changing plans, booking hotels etc. ?

One of the good things about working for family is I get to take time off whenever I want .

Yes I have booked the weekend off, but no accommodation yet. I booked the play off weekend off when we were right up there under Coleman, unfortunately we won none of our last ten games, failing miserably.

Im going to Australia, and the day of the final is the day i fly back. as it stands im currently due to be in the air flying while the game is taking place. Considering I was too young for the cup final, and ive waited about 22 years to see City at Wembley, im looking into how i can change my flights at the moment. Assuming it will come with a fee, Ive set myself a couple hundred quid maximum that I would pay to get the flight changed so I can go. But im not doing that until at least after the first leg, so I have some sort of idea if we are making it or not!

so yeah, youre not alone!

If I may offer a few words of advice, if 1987 was anything to go by I would not be considering staying in London the night of the game. The scenes in Coventry will live as long in my memory as long as the actual game. While not comparing the FA cup to the JP trophy, I hope to watch us lift the trophy then hotfoot it back to Coventry.

I'm too scared of making any plans for fear of jinxing the run. I want this so much I also can't bear to watch the Crewe game - it's all about getting to Wembley now, isn't it? Anything else and the run will be for nothing. Well, apart from the injury time against Preston which was simply bonkers....

I haven't even bothered to look. Better book Monday off for the open top bus tour.

I'm with mcullen, i'm too scared of jinxing anything if i make plans.

I ahve'nt been to the new Wembley either so it will be a fantastic day if we get there. My son is at Uni in London so i have free digs if i want to stay there, though his flat is the pits, its filthy ,dirty and smelly and god knows what the stains on the various peices of funiture and covers are ,so i would have to be desperate to stay there, but if it means a few beers after the game celebrating, i'll suppose i'll have to do it.

If we get there and lose, its only an hour by train, so i have options if we get there. I am not as excited about this match as i was in 87, but i am really looking forward to the Crewe game,if we beat them, then i will be very excited, but not as really excited as i was in 87.

I do think its fate that we will get there, penalty shootouts already, and two goals in the last few minutes also,is our name on the cup like it was way back in 87

Unsure whether to do the coach or make a weekend out of it and take my nephew all round London.

I am New York on final day so it looks like I need to find a bar somewhere to watch the game that morning. Not too sure if any sports bars will be open at 8am on a Sunday.

OK so this doesn't touch the excitement of '87 - but I'm still excited about the prospect of Wembley at least once this season.

The logistics for me are 'nothing' compared to the hoops I jumped through in '87 so I'm far more relaxed. (lucky me I know).

In '87 I was a 20 yr old student in London - my home was in South Wales - but I still tried to get to Highfield Rd & London away matches when I could.
I was very very fortunate to get a ticket for the final.

Being IN London - the day of the final could've been very easy...but I wasn't having any of that .....

I travelled (Coach) up to Cov on the Thurs/Friday - stayed with mates - saw the team off from Ryton - travelled down to Wembley on a supporters coach - and back again to Cov afterwards - saw the Cup procession - then travelled back to London the next day :claping hands:

FF to 2013..life has moved on somewhat !!!

Following Cov has become a rare luxury as I provide care for my Dad at weekends.
I'm married with two wonderful daughters.
My time is not my own so I accepted that 'Wembley Cup Final Tickets' are a thing of the past for me.

THEN JPT comes around....happy days.

I now live in Chelmsford...1 hr on the train to Wembley...THIS TIME...I'll be wanting to bring my wife and my two daughters to experience this....please please please 'make this happen' PUSB.

I have tried since their birth to ensure my daughters became Cov fans too .... teenage yrs are dragging them away a bit...this COULD just drag them back for life.

Moral of this story is, dont jinx it, and with regard to Villa :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
