An article about ACL having no decent gigs lined up. Followed by this!

The sycophantic morons will justify the council stance. Don't worry.

Doesn't seem ACL are too keen to send the cash they owe having illegally charged them since 2005.

The passive acceptance of fans to the council and its quangos desire to rio the club off makes me sick.

Bloody hell had not scrolled the screen down enough and thought it was James Smith retorting this strange spiel!

Scrolled it down another centimetre and it all makes sense

Maybe not a million tbf skybluesam but your point is a good one and more money in the coffers and could be spent on the team and a fair rent of 100-150k rent with loads left over for that investment in the team and dare I say it even a promotion? It makes me so sad, angry and frustrated. It just seems so easy to me.

LC - circa 1million
Arsenal game say 250-500k
Cheque paid 399k

All of the above was within a week and its almost 2 million pounds with say the rent free offer or reduced 150k rent then there is a lot to invest and get a good team together instead of spunking it all away. Not to mention increased season tickets sale and merchandise, sponsors....... arrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

and breathe.

Although agree about the rent, the fact Northampton makes no financial sense, even at the Ricoh that money would be used to cover operating costs and losses and not necessarily be used to invest and get a good team together. We lost £7m last season at the Ricoh whilst not paying rent (yes, we have reduced the wage bill since)

Not strictly true is it G, the courts/government etc ruled it was 3 years after looking into every year.

Also is it illegal? not more of an mis-understanding as CCC/ACL would only have to pay it back anyway which they have. (on time)

I don't agree with overcharging us etc but ML comments seem to at least rise above it..........NOT!

Fair point but the rent was 1.3m plus costs and wage bill double what it is now so I guess there is 3million saved straight away but still 4m loss. Makes you wonder how you lose 7m really.

Isn't that the exact purpose of an 'opinion' piece?

It clearly says 'Opinion' at the top of this article, even the link says 'news-opinion'

Paying off managers, back room staff and players every 12 months doesn't help....

I can understand why ACL aren't keen for it to be backdated to 2005, and our club are, most people are the same with taxes. Is there a 'statute of limitations' like income tax on how far back these things can be looked at retroactively? ACL I would guess owe the council for the shortfall because they would be the lease holder of the bowl when our club wasn't.

I've got no love for the council as they're not my council. I make the point that it's great that we've got the money and can use that to secure ownership of the Golden Share (unless they can cut a deal with the league) and you take that as some sort of acceptance of the council?

Why didn't SISU claim the money back in 2007? Have you irrefutable evidence that the council desire to rip the club off? Last I heard the club, CCFC Ltd., was in liquidation for non payment of rent - ripping off the landlord. Otium has no dealings with the council, so you can't be referring to them.

Worth noting that the council doesn't set the rates. It only collects them.

Do you know how Otium get money owed to CCFC Ltd in liquidation?
Why doesn't it go to CCFC Ltd's creditors?

The money belonged to ccfc ltd - but as Otium bought out all assets, the money was rightfully paid to Otium.

Well that is handy then, that will cover some of the money still due to ACL by the end of the month. Strange though that no-one noticed for so long.

The rates are paid to the council, it is why the council sent the refund to CCFC. This means the council sent the bill to CCFC which means if their is any money owed it is the council who have it not ACL you idiot.

The council sent the rebate to the owners of the club as they had overpaid on the rates, which means they had paid the council not ACL. So ACL do not owe money to the owners of CCFC, it is CCFC who owe money to ACL and are not very quick to pay it. News for you when they were at the ricoh, the CCFC accounts department were told to never pay on time and keep them waiting as it annoyed ACL and the Higgs.

I think what he meant was ACL now owe money to the council and don't want to pay it.

Ricoh Arena operators ACL will now be liable to pay the shortfall to the council – but it is understood ACL will appeal.

Yes, but the point is that ACL have to cover the shortfall to the council. Can you explain why?

Fucking nothing story that the obvious few have jumped on. Just like the club owing money to ACL when the deadline hasn't even passed yet. Fucking ridiculous.

I pray for the day we moan about players like Leon Barnett again.

As for ML...... Dingy offices?? Is he for real?!

Because it is money that they should have paid in the first place but was wrongly charged to the club instead?

We might need a promotion before we can even do that. How far we have fallen, even lower than Leon Barnett's sights.

The 2005 list is out of date but I think the VO still have the odd appeal against it. My mate works for a rating agent and would probably know.

I think No Future With Sisu has failed a fitness test. Mucas will be meeting him in the morning with some serious physio - it couldn't happen to a nicer troll.
