So it goes to a tribunal who tell them it's not enforceable because they have done it wrong.

Their approach is to ignore it and keep enforcing it to make some money.

How many times do they have to be told its not right before they will accept it?

"Yet Coventry City Council, seemingly with a determination and delusion reminiscent of King Canute himself, has continued to enforce PCNs."

Can't see how the incompetent Jayne Innes can survive this.

Coventry Labour is having a meeting tonight to put together their cabinet members for the forthcoming year.

If she doesn't go then it just shows weakness in the leadership.

The tribunal has savaged the lot of them.

I don't get how they keep getting away with it and just make it up as they go along? Even the tribunal has said they are doing it just to try and make money over anything else.

At what point does somebody intervene and sort it out?

They're not saying that, they're saying that the people in charge don't understand the job and have applied a parking restriction scheme inappropriately.

When the error was uncovered they still can't admit they're wrong and find a solution.

It's not the first time something like this has happened.

Did everybody get a refund last time they were found to have done it wrong?

I dont know who the road safety campaigner bloke is who is mad for it or if he has an actual job but he keeps catching the council our left, right and centre. It's quite funny.

Not doubting it, bit where’s the proof. Don’t say you have proof then not provide it.

I spent about £600 on parking charges last year. All because the council won’t enforce parking law in Foleshill or provide enough space. Four petitions for residents parking rejected.

It’s just a blatant money making scheme.

To be fair, he seems to spend his days taking photos of places where there arent signs / yellow lines etc etc so he probably does have photos.

After all the articles about the no parking zone I still have no idea where you can't park in town. I assumed it was bad signage but it appears there is deliberately no signage as the whole of the city centre is in this zone.

One article I read made it sound like you could park on a road with no double yellows or signs to say no parking but still get a fine!

I dont get how they get away with it?

Council leader saying how it is a waste of tax payers money to call a meeting but they pretty much ignored what the point of it was?

They are also throwing up loads of new signs, you wouldn't do that if the signage was adequate.

Yet he won't disclose how much was paid for a barrister for a legal opinion that contradicted the tribunal chairperson's view. I'd be willing to bet it exceeds 3 grand.

    Hypocrisy++

Waste of tax payer's money is spending a fortune on signs to try and retrospectively prove yourself right. The arrogance of the Councillors and officers knows no bounds. They should drop on street parking charges full stop, what benefit do rate paying businesses get from the council levying charges on potential customers?

They don’t get how to utilise the city centre at all. See it as a cash machine not a multiplier. This is just an extension of that. We should be doing everything to get people in: free parking, low rents, not just whacking some soulless paving and a few anemic trees in and calling it a day.

Looks like they are now basically just lying about those shared spaces in Town.

Madness how they get away with it and can just do and say what they want with no issues.

Why's it mad? They can just contradict themselves and pretty much lie over and over again with no real repercussions from it.

From my understanding every parking ticket can be successfully challenged by questioning the entry and exit gate system of the scheme.

You do not need to express where you have entered the parking zone or left.

It is up to the council to successfully argue that you have passed through one of these gates, and the signs are clearly visible to road users.

So all gates would need to be sent in to the tribunal as evidence.

Something I dont believe the council has done successfully yet.

From what I believe the evidence from the council is lacking when this is challenged at tribunal.

Best to check with Covblog if this is correct though.
