I was looking at the stadium during the first leg game and thinking this would be only viable option.

Realistically don’t think it will ever be needed, especially when we’re renting. Capacity is about right for top end champ/low end prem and the city size. Investment could be made in infrastructure and match day experience though.

I think if we stayed in the Prem a few years 40-45k could be justified TBH.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves

Would love a second tier on one of the stands though, as long as it was full of people and not empty of course.

Is the train still not sorted? Fuck me the grand plan of that bloody train station that was going to be the saving grace as to why we would have a stadium so far out the city centre is still not sorted?

Where else these days have the crowds dwindled ? It wouldn't happen these days unless our fans truly believe our club is one on its own

I could see us selling our home games for a season or two because it’s been so long but I doubt we would sustain it.

I suppose it depends how shrewd a business man DK is. I have always thought the club is marketed poorly, there is so much more that could be done.

Why?

All Premier League grounds are at least 90% full on average. There is no reason at all to assume we would be any different.

As I've said before, as a group of fans we are not special. We're no different to any other supporters.

agreed, though I think you have to recognise the extent to which the commercial side of the game has moved on since we last had a product which was marketable to people who aren’t irrational about spending money on it.

Regardless of the outcome next weekend this season should be a catalyst for engaging with the community in a new and positive way, we haven’t had that for the last fifteen years.

Not having some sort of fan park set up this weekend does feel like a missed opportunity to kick start that, though obviously these things are difficult at such short notice.

In 20 years time the Stadium will need rebuilding anyway.

There's more chance of Julian Gray leaving the club than this ever happening.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but historically we’ve never sold out all home games in a season have we. Even in highfield road days it wasn’t always sold out I don’t think.

Since the Ricoh days we’ve been a club with a hardcore of around £13K and now we are progressing that’s more like £16K + with walk ups and more casual fans. I hope I’m wrong

Of course not, I’m being realistic in response to seeing comments that we should expand the CBS. It’s currently nonsense

Football attendances across the board are at their highest levels since the 50s. Comparing us potentially being in the PL next season to us in the 90s isn’t a fair comparison.

The PL clubs currently selling out every week also do not have a history of doing that

I think people somehow underestimate the pull of PL football alone.

Thanks for the interesting replies. I didn't want it to turn into we would never fill it debate it was just a simple question of whether it was possible.

Yeah it is. I’m sure I read at the time the CBS was being built although it’s a bowl, each stand can be individually knocked down or increased.

There is absolutely no reason to expand the CBS until such time as we are full to capacity, year in year out, irrespective of where we finish in the premier League.
We are not Leicester. We are not Wolves. We are not Nottingham Forest. Until we have consistent support that those clubs have we have talk of expansion is nonsense.
