given our escape of quality yesterday it seems that the damage is minimal - PUSB and we will remain top

A good weekend after last night's result. We move on. Azeez went off injured for Millwall, he will be a massive loss for them.

Bristol city took a big hit to their GD.

Lets go and get the 3 points against Sheffield Utd!

Just goes to show, the most consistent teams will win promotion. Still big issues with SUFC, Southampton, Norwich and the blue scum. Could be some good managerial jobs available at the next break. Frank needs to get them going again and take advantage now, Robins seems to be getting a tune out of Stoke as well. Crazy league as always.

We have one of the best first 11s but not one of the best squads. That’s become evident

It's as good as it's been for a long time though. Obviously you always want to improve.

Just look at Hull as well, absolutely flying at the moment.
Bit of a suprise package so far this season, maybe our draw with them on the opening day wasn't such a bad result after all.

Not the only result of ours that's proving to be a bit better than people are giving credit for.

Interesting season in the championship shaping up, or should that be more interesting than usual because it's always captivating.

Last night was hopefully an anomaly, caused by a substantial change at the back. Hopefully come Tuesday Thomas is fit, and Dasilva is fully well again.
Just goes to show how well we handled Watford, considering the demolition job they did on Middlesborough.

Only one loss so think too early to say it's evident. Players that have come in done well up until yesterday

We need 2-3 in numbers wise but like Clint says it's as good a squad as I can remember

Yeah, we have players like KKH (4m), Woolf (4m), simms (3.5m) and when Rudonis back probably either Mason Clark (4.5m) or BTA (2.5m) all on the bench. Throw in players like Eccles and Lati with plenty of championship experience and a couple of young kids coming through and I think the squad stuff is overdone

We’re probably a couple light but a lot of clubs at our level would love to have those players available off the bench and sure a fair few would have them in their first team

Maybe 'becoming' evident then. I'd agree with the squad strength as compared to previous CCFC ones, but looking around the division I don't think we're in the top bracket for depth.

First XI certainly is though.

We need our injured players back ASAP. Torp and Eccles are obviously not fit or Torp would have started.
Lampard always seems to say a player will be back soon (Rudoni for Sheff Utd), Bobby may be ready for Tuesday and Torp will be back, then it doesn't happen. Get need to keep the opposition guessing, but worrying injuries at the moment.

We‘ll need everyone back for November December, some big tests coming up, that midfield last night won’t get us through, must have a bit of a shopping list for January

A fair comment.

In 2023, if Gyokeres and/or Hamer had been injured, we'd have got nowhere near the playoffs

We have a few injuries - although hopefully we will have Rudoni back soon - and a run of relatively tough games coming up, not that we should fear anyone. I think how we bounce back from last night and perform until the end of next month could be key in determining how our season pans out.

I’m still cautiously optimistic that we will get automatic promotion but I think it could yet be tight.

Listened to an Interview with Frank Lampard where he was asked when the Club started planning for the January window and he said as soon as the summer window ended.

Quick look at Sheff U forum - it’s super despondent.

Quick look at the foxes forum - it’s a full on meltdown!

Nice little pick me up after the dream of an unbeaten season disappears for another year

Both were I thought. Vik had an injury and played through and Hamer went off and probably lost us the final.

It is!

A lot of their fans think they are going down. That's probably unlikely but they certainly don't look like making the playoffs unless they improve.

I've lived in Leicestershire for 45 years and had to live through them winning the Premier League at a time when we didn't know if we would even survive as a club. It's lovely to see the tide turning

That’s a little harsh. The depth for the defence, CMs and strikers is good. We’re just thin on the ground in relation to the creators; wingers and no AM to come in when there’s injuries will cost us points.

The defence looked disjointed and upon reflection, that’s probably down to changing 3/4 defenders and a lack of game time together.

4 points from the next 2 would be fine. Win against Sheff United on Tuesday to get things back on track ideally.

That hasn't become evident! Its been the case all along! There were a fair few of us pointed it out from the very beginning and were called bedwetters because of it. Its not just all of a sudden become a weak depth squad, its been poor since weeks before the window closed. Though the "bedwetters" were told to stop wetting the bed when bringing it up, and that more players will be bought in to strengthen.... we all know how that went!

Was it not you on another thread about 2 weeks back tried making out I was talking shit with a daft GIF when I said exactly this? Im pretty sure it was!

Then funnily enough dissapeared when I replied with the response of how well they were playing, were in the top 6, and were picking up some pretty decent points.

Now you pop back up repeating my line from 2 weeks ago like a footballing messiah

It's been an issue since we came back to the championship.
This squad is still far stronger than many we've started the season with though its still light in certain areas but I don't think we'll ever have the strength in depth we'd all like unless we go up and come back down and have access to parachute money.

That probably applies to most of the championship

And why did we lose that one? Injuries. And what’s more likely to happen as the season goes on not less? Injuries.

The main difference between autos and POs isn’t talent it’s mostly squad size allowing consistency.
