Gangs of London was very good all the way through but a bit of a tame ending clearly left for a new series.

Watched the first episode yesterday, thought it was top notch. I usually find Sky productions feel a bit cheap and cheesy but this was levels up on anything else I've seen from them.

It's great but they've canned it after the 2nd series

Really disappointed. The fella who plays Edmund Kemper is incredible.

Gutted if that's the case. That was proper top tier TV

It's full of plot holes though.
That seems to be the case with everything I've watched recently or maybe lockdown has heightened my powers of tv analysis.

Definitely. It’s a compelling piece of television... takes a little while to pull you in, but then it’s hard to stop watching.

That's Japanese for Duty/Shame. It was on BBC last year and now it's on Netflix. A Yakuza crime drama based in London and Tokyo and is probably the best TV series I've watched for quite a few years. Only eight hour long episodes too.

Hmm.... Not at all impressed by the trailer there. Never laughed once. Happy to give it a look though.

Finished Tiger King, the place for all of them seems to be prison.

Love Malcolms character - sharp as a needle - can recommend Veep also written by Iannuci- yes it’s American but the characters are excellent - you have to listen the killer lines are very quick

Apparently people who have worked in politics say VEEP is the most accurate portrayal of what really goes on.

you could be right - shows the VP running after the President who she never talks to - the funniest guy is Jonah Ryan who works in the White House and is the liaison between the WH and VP in series 1 - it is very good - the episodes run after in another so no good just seeing one so if you give it a shot see a couple of episodes - the only difficulty is following the US presidential process which seems overly complex but needs direction changing within seconds depending on whos in who out - the lead character is excellent and has an acidic tongue and ranks with Malcolm in the UK series

Started watching The 100 with my partner. Three seasons in and still enjoying it. I wasn't sure at first as it starts a little too cheesy and americanised but storylines progress and become more complex (even sci-fiy in places) and intriguing.

Obviously nowhere near the levels of depth and/or intensity as The Wire, Shield, Breaking Bad etc, but worth a watch as something you can definitely get into without becoming obsessed.

Went through Greg Daniels other new show at the weekend. Upload on Amazon. Wasn't expecting much from the trailer but it was excellent and given the cliff hanger has thankfully been renewed for a second season.

Read an interview with Daniels at the weekend, he's got a pretty impressive hit rate. Started on Saturday Night Live then onto the Simpsons for seasons 5 - 7 before co-creating King of the Hill. Followed by The Office, Parks and Rec, People of Earth (not his finest moment but watchable), Upload and next up is Space Force. Can't be many people with such a consistent success rate.

We watch this as my partner loves it; I find it a bit hit and miss. The Dad is by far the best character though!

It may have been covered on another thread, but after all the hype we thought we’d give Tiger King a go. What an absolutely bizarre world! Couldn’t stop watching though....

Has anyone watched Space Force yet?

I really like Daniels and Carell, so tempted to give it a try but reviews aren’t great and wasn’t overly impressed with the trailer.

Same here. Trailer put me right off and I didn't laugh once. Not a good sign for a supposed comedy.

Gone through a few episodes tonight and I’m enjoying it.

First episode is heavy on setting up but it’s much better from episode 2 onwards.

Watched Black Mirror recently. I think it's 22 episodes, each one it's own story and none follow on so can watch it in any order. Some episodes were tame but some were brilliant.
Enjoyed Breaking Bad and the film but couldn't get into Better Call Saul for some reason

How much of Better Call Saul did you try before leaving it? It's surpassed BB for me now.

As you enjoyed Breaking Bad and the film I think you can't go wrong with it, it does have quite a slow pace at times but if it hooks you then that becomes a big plus
