On our corner, why was our only striker on the byline and then only about 2 or 3 players in the box when it is crossed in?

We are in survival (panic against counter attack) mode, the free flowing Bayern Munich style football is well and truly on the back burner, and has been for months.

Perhaps they forgot that Wilson wasn't playing :thinking about:

Why cross it in just to give possession away though?

Yes, when the box was full. No point putting it in if nobody is in there, may as well have just hoofed it back to Murphy.

As I was being forced by Sisu to watch the man utd bayern match and not at the ricoh watching Cov. I liked the fact that at times bayern had three players on the half way line when defending a corner.

The thing with having every player back for a corner is that it just invites a second attack after the set piece unless you are extremely good in possession.

Exactly but it seems a modern day tactic for most teams. But if you put players on the halfway line when your defending a corner it stops the opposing team filling up the box.

I remember Coleman was asked why he did it and he said "if it's good enough for Manchester United it's good enough for us" which is fair enough, but when you are 1-0 down in the 89th minute and are still bringing everyone back to defend a corner it loses it's appeal.
