Double that - we need somewhere for the retractable pitch.

Just been walking the dog there as I do most days. Any chance at all you think that City would be allowed to build a stadium there? It's plenty big enough. Opposite the Shepard pub.

The one part with the pathway through that leads to Brownsville Green Road is owned by the council, but the large park behind the trees I am lead to believe is privately owned by Bablake.

Copthorne School used to be there, so obviously been built on before. Coundon Park is also just across the road from it, so no-one can say there are no green spaces or places to walk the dog. It's well big enough to encompass a stadium and still have some park space.

It’s funny, as when I’m in Cov, When I’m driving around amazing how we just look for an area of land. And think can we fit a stadium there.

Right. My day job is partly searching for land for companies to buy and develop. Let’s get this sorted. What are the specs we need for a stadium? What sort of acreage? What sort of location? What sort of existing uses?

I’m going to pull off a list of potential sites with the addresses of the owners and send it to Fisher.

Realistically probably around 15 acres. I’ve been having a rough look since reading in the accounts that we still intend on building a new stadium (ok I’m well aware it’s probably lip service, but got me thinking). Could Hearsall Common be doable? Very good size for stadium, parking and any extra ventures. Reasonable transport links, next to the railway line and the potential to increase Tile Hill Lane to a dual carriageway. Not officially registered as Common Land either. Yes it’s pie in the sky but it would be ideal.

Swansea's stadium is 15.07 acres with car park

Anybody tell me what all this land is doing between Stoney Stanton and Foleshill Road? 44.6 acres

Or next to the Higgs to have academy and stadium together. 71.65 acres

Otis' suggestion is 24.04 acres

Would you happen to have any machinery that might help with the construction? It’d have to be modern...

Toys R Us have gone tits up. They won't want any massive stores even if parts of the company in the UK are saved. And who else would want a store as big as the one on the outskirts of Coventry? Online shopping has taken over from traditional shops and megastores. And it is surrounded by parking spaces.

The normal excuses for not being able to build a stadium in the location wouldn't hold much weight. Direct links to the M6 and on the edge of a retail park. Just what the Ricoh has. And it was designed that way.

Be interested to see what the acreage is, but I can't think it would be much at all.

Plenty of land south of Tile Hill on the A45. Like Otis said we can dream but having our own stadium would be weird after 13 years at the Ricoh feeling souless as tenants.

Just being bleeding serious for one moment.
Just two scenarios available.
Cripple Wasps and seize the Ricoh or long term deal.
Other options share out of town, go bump trying.

I like the Morris Common (is it genuinely common ground)?

That's 18 acres, would be perfect if you ask me. Traffic filtering on to the A444. Leave trees along Valley Road in situ to screen local residents. Park and Ride schemes in operation.

Lack of pubs on the other hand, in fact scrub it!

If I was chairman I'd be in touch with Wetherspoon to build the first multi use pub/stadium complex.

Not so sure at all on that. Situ sounds far too much like Sisu for my liking.

Guys, sign up for a free account at www.nimbusmaps.co.uk and you can see the title outlines for all registered land for three months. If you need more detail about a site I can find owners and the like. (Or you can pay £100/month for access )

I think the free version gives you site size but if not it has a measure tool.

BTW the site is very much beta so I know about the bugs.

Here's the TRU site: 43.6 acres and freehold owned by TRU so maybe a good shout.

That one's unregistered, so must be council owned. Can't see any details in that case.
