Palmer and Lati are representing Jamaica while Haji Wright is representing USA in Cops America which is taking place now.

Watching Mexico vs Jamaica currently which is scoreless. Greg Leigh who plays for Oxford has always looked good when I’ve watched him play for Jamaica. Our players are okay - nothing remarkable.

Am in Mexico. Thought Palmer had a few mates here, he keeps passing to them.

Pretty decent match. Lembikisa and Pinnock have looked very good for Jamaica.

Mexico have been well on top 2nd half. Should be 3 up.
They bloody shoot from everywhere.

True. Jamaica had their moments early in the second half and were unlucky with the disallowed goal.

Can't find player ratings for Jamaica anywhere, just for Mexico. Saw both Latibeudiere and Palmer played the full game. How did they play?

I thought both Lati and Palmer were average - about a 6/10 for me for both. Lati played as a CB and not in midfield. Palmer had 1 shot on target saved by the keeper and skied another well over the bar, but was largely anonymous. Lati was okay and mopped up things at the back reasonably well, but the team as a whole sat too deep and invited pressure from Mexico who basically shot on sight. The Jamaican keeper had a good game and saved several shots, but was powerless to stop the goal which was a rocket. I also think Lembikasa, Leigh and Pinnock were good for Jamaica.

Agree with your marks for both players , late on when Jamaica were pushing for an equaliser Palmer seemed to make minimal effort to get forward ,look for a pass or even press.

The Jamaican team should have taken some anti anxiety medication.
They stop Hispanic attacks.

Couldn't care less on Kasey and Joel

It's Haji we need to come through unscathed. Let's hope for an early USA exit

We need all of them to come through unscathed. Need the numbers for squad depth. Although, I agree that of the bunch Haji is probably the most important. Yesterday the Mexican captain pulled up after a non-contact hamstring injury and had to come off. Looks like a lengthy layoff.

If Wright has a great tournament and bags a few goals I think we will struggle to keep hold of him

Thought Latibeudiere did ok under a lot of pressure.
Thought Palmer was his usual waste of space, especially when Jamaica were under pressure.
Perhaps unfair because I will admit I am one of those who don’t rate Palmer anyway.

When does the Copa-America finish, only 7 days till players return for training.

They are going to need some rest so I guess they won't be involved until mid July.

Tournament ends 14Jul. USA plays Bolivia today (first match). I've got something going on and will likely miss watching the match, but USA is expected to win. Selfishly I hope Sargent starts ahead of Wright for the US. I think USA could go far in the tournament. I think Jamaica will likely get eliminated in the group stages.

I'd also like to have our players in for pre-season, but I guess those at Copa America will not join until much later.

So Hadji Wright should have enough time to recover for the start of the season, as long as he doesn't get injured.

The positive side being that it would add a few more numbers to his price tag. A thriving and confident Wright at International level will only benefit us.

But it is a squad game - and saying we couldn't care less about the likes of Joel is daft, when/if we pick up injuries/suspensions and we haven't got any proper cover.

I agree with the Palmer comments, he has always been hit and miss.

We need better, looks like we have signed better in the window, i can see palmer starting the bench most games.

Agree, I’ve got nothing against them but in my mind they’re not really part of our squad, like I know that they can do a job as subs but I don’t ever think of Palmer or Lati as game-changing players. If we sold them for a combined £3-5 mil I’d be over the moon tbh, take them off the wage bill and bring in some proper talent, we can’t have maybes or wannabes if we’re to get into the prem.

I think that both Palmer and Lati are game changers in different ways. Palmer more obviously…on his day he is unplayable…Lati enables us to change formation more easily.
I love Palmer but he’s probably not consistent enough. I think Both are really good players to have in a championship squad.

Hmmmm, I’m not sure Palmer is “unplayable on his day”, I used to really rate Palmer, and yes on his day he’s decent but the more I’ve seen from him the more I’ve come round to the idea that he’s all huff no puff. He’s good at picking up the ball and running with it but he never really seems to create anything with it, either through final-ball passing or through shooting.

As for Lati, he’s okay and yes he does offer flexibility, which isn’t a bad thing, but I do think he’s a bit of a passenger. Having said that I’m not calling for him to he sold immediately, just that if we have an interested buyer then we might as well make some cash back on him.

Well, it might be a bit of an exaggeration but my point is he’s pretty good when firing on all cylinders.
I think, they’re good championship squad players.
I guess the thing about selling them is we’d have to find better replacements. Which of course I’m all for across the team!

Pete, I wonder if we’ve got to start getting used to having players on big wages, sitting on our bench…we’re massive now!

Shows how good they are. It’s obvious they are both available and there is zero interest.
If we got half a million for them I would think it was good business.
