This has been coming. Look what happened with Costa. Things haven’t been right off the pitch for most of his tenure despite the success of his first season. He didn’t want to resign as he wouldn’t get his pay off and Chelsea didn’t want to sack him as they’d have to pay him off. It was a game of brinksmanship and Conte won.
